Healthwise, I'm doing fine. Improving quite a bit. Able to do a lot more. I don't want to splash this boat alone. I need somebody around who has capabilities to help if there are issues, minor or otherwise. My 35 y.o. neighbor friend is that guy. And he's one very busy fella. So...

    Harbor freight jack.

I have a variety of HF powered and non-powered tools. All have held up well for me in my DIY efforts. I had a 125 PSI compressor that lasted 15 years, sometimes with heavy use, before the circuit board failed and I gave the unit to my neighbor for scrap. Definitely worth the $99 I paid for...

I'm sure everyone's seen this by now.....

Yeah, it was seriously stupid. "The best charter captain you'll ever meet" could likely lose his license.

Yup, it's been a whole year since I purchased the MC and it's still dry. But! Splash time is growing ever closer. (I know, you've heard it before. ) Since my last update, I've been keeping busy, including boat stuff! First and foremost - my health is greatly improved and...

82 Starcraft MR 180 floor, slight refit and leaks

I went through a bunch of the cheap Harbor Freight bits, but finally switched to the Dewalt Pilot Point bits like Watermann showed above and never broke one of those.

Anyone have experience with exterminating Rats?

I've used Tomcat with good success.

    Mounting outboard.

If it was my boat, I'd bolt it down. I've actually done it before and I like the security that bolts provide over a thumb screw.

82 Starcraft MR 180 floor, slight refit and leaks

Yessir, on my Kingfisher, I used OTF to seal the plywood, but I used gray home porch paint for the deck once the OTF was dry. I mixed in some traction sand. It works very well and is tough and durable. If it gets scuffed, it's very easy to apply a little more paint to any damaged areas or...

1973 starcraft ss restore in progress

I learned (the hard way) to just install the max rated horsepower for the boat. That's what I'm doing with my current project. Yes, it's possible to go lower, but at a minimum, recommendations are to use no less than 75% of max rating. Sometimes less works for awhile in specific...

    Nobody fishing?

The weather finally broke, so my wife and I went to the ol' fishing hole to try our luck. The water was absolutely gin clear and we could see plenty of bluegill right there at the dock. My wife climbed topside and spotted a couple of good sized bass about 50 feet out. So, she caught a...

    Turbo tax

We just finished filing our taxes with Turbo Tax. It worked fine, as it always has. But, we ended up owing this year due to big changes last year. That's the first time we've had to pay since my wife got here almost 13 years ago. It was a real eye opener for her. :sneaky:
