    Solar Power Installation . . .

Did you try using wire pulling snot. I like the clear stuff cuz it dries clean. The yellow cakes up when dry. Make your transition from string to wire as smooth as possible, pour more than enough lube and pull downhill. I did a pull once with 15 cat6 in a 1". 260 feet with a transition from pipe...

Fuel Tank Shape - Lesson Learned

So this is what mine looked like. I had bed one side of the neoprene first and set to cureThe last thing I did was coat the other side of the neoprene with 5200 and set the tank in. When I set the front/rear rubbers I pushed the tank forward and glued in the rear then had to push the tank to the...

My OMC, 305 V8 stinger has a Prop Lyft problem

Have you bypassed everything and fed power directly to motor? I would try that. Get a good ground on the case and jump the up wire (should be blue). I have also read that the aftermarket motors don't quite have the power the original ones have. There is also a thermal overload In Those motors...

Fuel Tank Shape - Lesson Learned

I built up pads for my tank with strips of glass with thickened with glass resin. All the strips where progressively wider the closer it got to the hull to prevent hard spots just like tabbing

PB'ing new transom wood to boat

I did use some glass when I did mine. Practice doing it several times and have all clamps screws etc ready to go. Mine setup faster than expected and if I wasnt practiced and prepared it would have been a disaster

ideas to mount square saddle tanks

Of all the researching I have read... screw holes in deck tend to allow water thru floor and then comes rot. What I did was glass extra wood to top of deck and screw to that. Put a lot of effort into a solid rehab and didn't want to ruin it a few years out..... for what its worth

    Starting issue

So I have an omc antique with the true course steering. Well that cable assembly was gummed up so what I did to clean and lube that assembly was I took the slave drum assembly and fed it into a container turned I to a "funnel". Sealed the sheathed end good, hung it in my sons tree house. Then I...

    Starting issue

When I troubleshoot things like this I like to use a incandescent test light with a high current bulb. Not led. A meter will show the presence of voltage regardless of the ability to carry any kind of current. I would start at the starter solenoid and work backwards. Don't forget neutral saftey...

    Plywood for deck

I don't think a grand will cover supplies. That's not materials either. Supplies are things like resperator and cartridges.gloves glasses mixing cups.... Just a floor, no stringers 10-15 gal at least. 3/4 marine ply when I did my floor was $75 each before covid. I had to go back to get 1 more...

    Drain plug question

I would worry about rot. You got 5 gal of water out. How much soaked / seeped into the "bones" of the boat? Foam saturated? Be safe and have someone survey the boat

Or .... Galvanized pipe and nipples 2 couplings or caps, 2 90's, 3 nipples at whatever lengths you need, 4-6 hoseclamps. Make a u shape with the couplings or caps at the ends so the u dont slide thru the hose clamps and tighten clamps around ladder sides and u pipe. Position clamp screws away...

Two Layers of 3/4 CSM versus One Layer of 1.5 CSM

Csm is like a "primer". Its hair like random structure is good for filling voids. The "hair ends" stick into all the valleys and crevasses. Then the woven goes on top for the real strength. Granted any glass will add some support but biaxis is stronger. That's what 1708 is..... a 2 in 1 hybrid...

Two Layers of 3/4 CSM versus One Layer of 1.5 CSM

As long as they are laid as one. The weight of the glass is the same. My biggest issue was doing by myself and keeping a wet edge without a mixer/helper. I had to really hustle but got it done with one minor flaw I had to fix where I lifted the glass back up to reposition and got a permabubble I...

    Stringer encapsulation.( Air pockets.)

Pockets can hold water. Try this on a spot and see if you like how it turns out. I got some bags of 1/4" loose chopped glass to add to my peanut butter for strength. Grind out pocket. Mix up some resin and chopped glass and put on spot.
