    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Don't cover the 5200 with coat it. Two different sealants that are designed for different purposes. The coat it won't give like the 5200 is designed to and may cause tearing (where they are adhered together) of the 5200 when it fails. SHSU

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

What our neighbors hear. lol I know how that goes. We had to do all of our work in a garage with the door closed. We used earplugs with earmuffs on top. That help keep it reasonable. As for the eroded and hard to find, we used the tails to identify if we had missed any. All that brown...

PC-11 or JB Weld to fill the pits and then back butter a patch with 5200 and solid rivet it into place. As for length, its up to you if you want to go the whole length in one shot or not. You will see several of the guys here have done similar patch work and I haven't heard of any issues...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Wealth of experience here on the forums for both areas that need work. Doing it yourself will be a lot more cost effective plus you will know how it was done. For basics, @Watermann 's rivet sticky https://forums.iboats.com/threads/rivets-rivets-and-more-rivets-repaired.741809/ should help...

1975 Starcraft SS 16' Freshen Up

Leave it to us to try and improve on what we have already done and make it worse. lol I like the idea of using paint vs the epoxy I used since it is easier to do touch ups, but at the same time the durability of the epoxy I have is what keeps me slightly leaning that way. I bet you will be...

Here are two kits here on Iboats that would do the trick http://ww2.iboats.com/Fuel-Filter-Water-Separator-20-Micron-Universal-Application-SeaSense/dm/cart_id.971343337--session_id.648788058--view_id.56071...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

A happy Admiral is key. lol Do the white and you can decide later if you want to go to something else. I am still very happy I went the route of using the Nautolex on the gunwales. Trying to keep the white splashwell clean has been difficult, the Nautolex though has been a breeze. SHSU

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

A 2lb kit is enough to do the seems and rivet tails. I suggest using a syringe to lay a nice bead along the top of the seems so it can seep in between and do what its supposed to. Then you can come back along with a brush to hit the rivet tails. Also, I would recommend doing the math and...

    1978 22' V5 Super Sport CC

Nothing like a turtle in the driveway!!! Ya, I did similar when flipping. Dad and brother helped and took under a minute to actually flip. Bummer on the corrosion. Guessing previous owner used pressure treated wood to make the bunks. The copper naphthenate will eat the aluminum and make...

The bolted D rings will do a nice job securing the tank. Helps going straight down to the stringers. How are you running your feed hose, down the center under the deck? SHSU

The novice build: 1968 Starcraft SuperSport V-16 "The Boat"

From what I see you have done a good job cleaning what you have. If you want to keep the hull, I think you are at a point where you move to the next step and patch the holes. Aluminum sheet riveted to the hull back buttered with 5200 and then the interior skinned over with JB Weld, Skinning...

    1974 Starcraft SS 22’ Transformation

Looking good. A lot of projects seems to take longer then originally planed. Our project started in March and I told the admiral I planned to have it done by July. I just didn't account it would be July 2 years later..... lol SHSU

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Are you going to check for leaks or not bother? Gluvit seems like cheap peace of mind/insurance since you already have the flooring out and only takes 30 minutes to apply. Just my 2 cents... SHSU

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Like the aluminum sheet flooring for the tank. Only concern is the foam support under it. Overtime and bouncing, wont it compress the foam thus creating less support? I am probably overthinking it since it wouldn't be a point load but that is how my mind thinks sometimes.... SHSU

    1974 Starcraft SS 22’ Transformation

You will see a lot of guys have them. Only thing to keep in mind is not to over fill. If you start seeing grease on the interior of your wheel after an outing and you don't think your seals are bad, you are overfilling. Learned that the hard way.... That being said, I guess I would rather...
