    Limiting the throttle box is probably a better idea.... and limiting full throttle is rarely asked. Growing up, we always went full throttle and then backed it off some which always helped with fuel consumption.

    Carbs come off fast....try just cleaning it. I use torch head tip cleaners to team out the orifices. Easy. Hot trick, instead of removing the starter and it's brackets, hit the port side carb nut with a small cold chisel or screw driver to remove it. Save's tons of time and you might not need...

    Yes, or junk in the carb/idle circuit. Best to send us compression test numbers and then go from there.

    You could probably limit the butterfly valves from opening all the way.

    NH.....they ship. Could call and have him describe it. Finding one with a blown power head typically $100 or $150. Craigslist, offer up, Facebook marketplace.....nextdoor? Hunt around, their out there.

    I think sometimes they leak, not stuck closed, but reeds don't fail often on those little motors. Hand over carb....does it spit gas in your hand? When doing this don't suffocate the motor. Here's a parts drop.....

    Am I understanding you correctly? You used a 9.9/15 carb kit for a 7.5? If so, yes it won't run correctly.

    Your motor is a 1981.....the swap is a little complex. Just find a good used tiller motor and sell yours.

    There would be three capped off wires somewhere....pretty sure you do not have one.
