    yes it could.. only crank i had break several years ago it broke so clean tha motor would try ta run on 4 cylinders.. not to good but would still try ta run....

    sounds like tha crank broke.. maybe rods but usually if rods break it tears up a lot more stuff and will only turn a little one and/or both ways.. not to common but does happen...

    no it won't.. pressure valve (under starter) needs to go.. needs ta be plugged.. it pressurizes tha big tank to force oil to tha motor tank.. no fuel gettin' ta motor probably needs fuel pump?... i use ta keep a low pressure 'lectric pump jus for that reason.. use ta test.. but i also run...

    divider and heads yes.. adapter plates, powerhead has to come off... have you got a water pressure gauge?

    "There were 3 small stones and a tiny piece of stick in the poppet table cavity after the valve seat." this would give reason to pull divider plate check, clean.. pull powerhead to check, clean adapter plates.. heads could possibly be involved also. water pump "kit"? or jus tha impeller?

    first off force didn't offer a 150 till '89.. don't think "anything" force will work ona V6 merc...... jmo.

    trash tha "idle" speed box.. it has white/black, white/red wires going to tha switch boxes.. you may have to make a short white/black jumper that goes between tha bias post of both switch boxes.. reset "max timing" at 23*... if that doesn't help ya probably gonna have a suspect ecu............ jmo.

    justa 'bout everything BUT block half, pistons, rings, center main bearings (different crank) .. as for everything else ya gotta know tha difference, but can be used.. tha 150 is a 2.0 steel sleeve motor and your 175 is a 2.4 chrome (same as 200) bore motor which is tha MAIN difference
