Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Also can't get the new power head to fire up at all. Gotta do some detective work as I have no clue why it's not starting abs why the control box screams at me

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Working on the outboard today. Got the wire harness started. Some components are not matching but for now. I do believe I got the power tilt hooked up correctly. As soon as I added power...I got a continuous beep coming from the control box. Didn't even know it did that. What is it and how do...

Well I'll be damned! LOL I will definitely have to look things up there then!!!! Got a ways to go with buying accessories as I am barely touching the boat this past month. Birthday and vacation got in the way of working on her 2 weeks ago. Gonna get back out there tomorrow and Thursday...

Gotcha....Uhoh...Hopefully it isn't a part of that Microsoft bug. We are still impacted by that at work.

Your plan for the hull light shining through seems ok. If the boxes are not sealed, then leave them be. I read you stating that you basically didn't care how they turn out. Were you just going to leave them alone? They will just rot out sooner. I would glass them over just to have that added...

    1966 MFG Rebuild

Little off topic, but you out up a link for EVA on Temu......Isn't that site full of cheap items......and therefore, poor quality items? If I am wrong, and they are carrying good quality boat accessories, then I need to start looking into that!

Are those boxes fully enclosed? I may have already missed it, but could you utilize that space for pouring more flotation foam?

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I personally would have added a couple layers of 1708 to the inside as well as done something to beef up the outside such as a keel guard as recently suggested. Looking real good though!

Appreciate it! Meh.....Old upholstery gives a cabin that rustic vintage look! Gives it character! 🤣 And you're right. Boat will always be there.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Hey, if you would be floating now, then you are not far from actually making that a reality!!! Do it right, get it done, and enjoy whatever you can get on the water out of this year yet if you can! I have a hectic schedule and probably won't be able to see my boat in the water until next year at...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Can I rent from you????🤣 Landlord is claiming that he's only doing it to match the rental prices within the surrounding neighborhood. I think it's BS....It's a choice to raise the rent.....Not a legal obligation. But this is also the same guy who told me 3 years ago that he was charging me less...

I gotta thank my better half for that!!!! I am a late bloomer, but was taught about 2 years ago how to budget in a manner that really works well for me and I have been able to save up a good chunk of money since, on top of having fun money to play with as well!

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

It's a tough world out there in the job market. I can not speak for everyone else, but fortunately for me....my job pays well, so after budgeting all my bills, I still have a chunk of "fun money" to do whatever I wish without it impacting my financial obligations. Some of that fun money now...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I tell ya what......Rent just got jacked up 200.00. That's an increase of 400.00 in 3 years. Having extra money to spend on this boat just got even more difficult.😭🤬

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Yes. I added about a cup of cabosil to a cup of resin. Wanted something a little thicker to help stay put while glassing on a vertical surface. What do you think about the whiter spots on the 1708 vs clear spots? It's all dry and rock solid. Is it still good?

A little filleting with pb mixed with csm.... some tabbing with csm.... and a layer of 1708. Such a mess. Gonna have to grind some more when I can. I put a layer of csm over the outside of that Crack from the little platform at the rear of the boat. Csm looks practically invisible when...
