    Installing a new asphalt driveway

Yeah, the rain is still "helping" today. Been pouring down off and on all day. It's definitely turning into springtime around here. 🌷 Limestone is extremely common here. Heck, most of Florida is made of the stuff. 🙃 We don't have "hard pack" but we do have crushed concrete, but...

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

This is the roll of commercial-grade roadway stabilization cloth. It's 12.5 feet wide and 432 feet long; 5,400 square feet total. We'll cut and trim it to fit the various spots to be paved.

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

Yesterday I decided that I wanted another load of sand delivered for the turn around area. Overnight and early this morning, we had major thunderstorms roll through and we now have 2 new creeks in the front yard, going around the new pile! :ROFLMAO:

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

This project is going to take awhile. Probably 2 months or so. That's mostly due to availability of my neighbor friends. They can basically help only on the weekends and only when they're not already booked up (like they are this weekend.) :sneaky: A week ago I brought in a load of sand...

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

Yup, relocating the tank was a great idea. My neighbor buddies have much experience with such things. There's already a steel well head access plate now. It was covered with sand in the pix. As the project progresses, it will be "boxed in" up to the height of the lime rock, then to...

What advice on renting a room out?

All of what everyone else said. Plus, in these Covid times, evictions are forbidden in many places. So you could be stuck with a bad or even dangerous situation for a long, long time. I wouldn't rent a room. Nope.

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

No such thing around here. I live in the country, not a city. We're zoned agricultural. And any "runoff" will be on our property, nowhere else.

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

Much better! The boy did a great job squaring off around the concrete. Plenty of room between the vehicles with extra space all around. Everything done for the night. Graded, well moved, CATV reconnected. All good! (y):)

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

Getting the electric hooked up. View from the gate. More fill will be added to the left, to level up the turnaround area. Much more room now!

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

Well bladder relocated, well head secured and covered. Grading continues unimpeded! :D What a straight line. Looks like a runway! (y)

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

So the brothers talked it over and decided to move the well stuff out of the way!  Tired of grading around the well, they were standing on the mound and talking over best solutions. They moved everything except the well head! Things started coming apart quickly. Where's that...

    Installing a new asphalt driveway

We're installing a new driveway/parking area at our homestead. My neighbor buddies (brothers) came over 3 days ago and got started. They worked all day Saturday. :) I'm very pleased with the progress so far! (y) Today, I have a question. Do I actually need to install a French drain along...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

This afternoon the boy and I replaced the trailer side marker lights. On the 3rd or 4th trip using the KF, they failed. The tail lights are completely submersible but the side marker lights are clearly not. 😒 I'd ordered identical replacements for them a couple months ago and we sealed and...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We (the boy, actually) got the tach fully installed today! He did all the soldering and installation himself. I just inspected and offered advice. 😎 It was nice to add a functional enhancement to the KF. While the boy was working on the tach, I busied myself making corrections to all four...

    Boat Inspection Jupiter FL

I sold a boat to a guy in Australia back in 2000. Even with shipping, his cost was about 1/4 of buying a boat there.

    Flying during pandemic

I sure as heck would NOT get on a plane right now. Not for any reason. I pretty much don't do anything either. Didn't go inside any stores for about 6 months, then I made a mistake on New Year's Eve and went to Clearwater Beach with my family. We ate at a restaurant in the outdoor section...

    1984 Mercury Trim Question

Yep, it comes off as one unit. Make sure that you take extra care to not let the pump fall. Mine fell and pranged the top of the pump to the point that it was inoperable. Doh. You can see it resting on the bottom of the shop crane in the pic. It fell over and landed on the top...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We've been very busy doing other things related to the garage, etc. but finally got back to the KF this morning. I hooked the tach up directly to the rectifier and still no joy on the right side lead where it was originally connected. But once I swapped the gray wire over to the left side of...
