    Also check your manifolds and elbows, they get clogged up with rust and water flow becomes restricted and exhaust gas fries your drive.

    Not too far off the mark. Raising it won't hurt. A couple of inches in shallow water probably won't won't help much. It's what makes you happy that counts.

    Without having remote throttle and shift I don't see the steering link being very useful unless you're in open water.
