    8 psi is a bit high, check down your carb throat and make sure you're not dripping fuel at idle

    One is an exhaust tube the other is the bellows. The tube was originally to reduce back pressure on the bigger engines. Tube is much easier to install fwiw.

    Not necessarily, and that's what a leak down test would show. Combustion gases are under a lot higher pressure than what you'll be pressurizing the block to.

    I'm going with faulty gimbal bearing install. Doesn't look like there was water intrusion in the bellows that would rust the bearing to the shaft. Was the water in your shift shaft bellows? The rust I see is in the water passage, which is where water should be Edit: didn't see @dubs283...

    Most/all 5v sensors don't operate at 0 or 5v (so somewhere in between) so that the PCM can tell if there's a disconnection/short in the circuit

    Lazy o2 sensor could do that, not reacting quickly enough. Can you post the values at the time of the fault? Does your reader allow you to look at how quickly o2 sensor cycles, and min/Max voltages?

    If you're positive that this follows Pcms and it's reproducible when you disconnect the map, then this has to be an information problem to the PCM, right? But you need to be sure that it's reproducible (most of the time... Other times makes it seem like it's not) What's wot rpm when it's running...
