    I’m not sure why you would need a tilt pin if you have tilt assist. If you need to change your pitch you can move the bottom pin of the tilt assist cylinder to the appropriate whole.

    I was going to suggest this. Well done. For those that don’t have access to a 3d printer check with your local high school. They sometimes find stuff like this as an interesting project for the class room.

    Sorry but I have to ask. It sounds like your lining up right but just to be sure you are lining it up so the bolt goes through the detent in the shift rod correct? And is the top lined up correctly as well?

    When I was a kid I took marine mechanics at a vocational school. We often took in motors that were taken apart by their owners and were dropped off in box’s. It’s was a nightmare but at the same time we learned a lot.

    Agreed you should check to see if your prop is slipping before pulling the trigger on a lower. You can mark the prop and the hub and take her for a spin if your marks are no longer aligned you know you have a spun hub.

    Have you pulled the head for inspection yet? Your compression is low in my opinion.
