    1992 Celebrity 190 boats owner's manual

Useful manuals are really not a thing with boat manufacturers, until recently. If you cannot find anything by a Google search then it probably never existed.

CT Police Driving With Blue/Red Lights on Steady

I just drove to CT this AM as we usually go there a few times a year. Today I noticed that all the Police cars were driving with their blue and red lights on steady, not flashing. It seems like a new thing, and much appreciated, as we can see them coming now 🤣

Engine cooling water in tube bigger than gimbal housng tube

That little white tube is not right. Do some parts look-up on both the outdrive gimbal assembly and the engine itself. You are missing a few parts, not just one.

    Winterizing: Fuel in tank options?

I have in the past used the fuel line leading to the engine as a means to pump out the fuel in the tank. Perhaps you can rig something up with a double-ended barb fitting and some clamp that give you a margin of safety than a quick-disconnect. FWIW - I usually empty the tank at the end of the...

    Fogging oil won't kill engine

Often the spray does not give enough fogging oil to stop the engine. You can try 2 cans of spray going at the same time. Also, make sure you are at the lowest idle. My 454 Merc would keep running even with 2 cans of spray going . . . I always just shut the engine off and call it good.

WINTERIZING: Full fuel tank vs Empty fuel tank

On the flip side . . . when I removed the fuel tank from my Formula, the way I purged the fumes from the tank was to turn it upside down and the fumes came out of the fill hose fitting. 🤪

WINTERIZING: Full fuel tank vs Empty fuel tank

What folks don't consider about fuel tanks is that they are full of fumes. The fumes are heavier than air. So, moisture-laden air from the outside does not have much chance to get into the tank.

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

You know, I had not seen many Ranger trucks over the past 5 years until recently now that the new F-150's were pushing $80K o_O

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

It was not until I recently owned a P/U Truck that I realized why Detroit seems to love making them (and in turn makes many people feel like they need to own one). Those things seem to be butt-simple to build . . . a very classic auto-industry build, typical of the 1950's-1960's. Body on...

OMG - I got an oversized load permit !!!

I used the PG-based antifreeze for the engine and A/C unit, and the Alcohol-based for the plumbing. The PG has gotten pricey though . . . 🤪

WINTERIZING: Full fuel tank vs Empty fuel tank

I usually empty the tank as much as possible, but add back some fuel for fogging the engine (MPI fogging). Any amount of fuel is fine as far as moisture and fuel preservation. I just choose to start the next season with mostly fresh gasoline.

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

Wow . . . I think we are onto something. If there is PG-based AF/Coolant, then it is a fair assumption that it is meant for engines, Right? The W.M. -100˚F stuff is $22/gallon . . . so perhaps there is a less expensive alternative, if it is called 'coolant' I'm using about...

    Vintage Mercury Cooling Issue

I got the parts . . . Of course I won't be able to re-assemble the engine for a few weeks. It would be nice to have it running in 'tip-top' shape again.

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

You know what is interesting . . . Propylene Glycol has a freeze point of -74˚F . . . so the "-100F" antifreeze must be frozen long before it gets to -100 degrees. I think the guidance is to use it in temperatures down to about -60˚F . . . probably all anyone would ever need. (except...

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

@Lou C - Regarding the Peak/Sierra AF . . . it is interesting that it is marketed as a coolant rather than a winterization product. The data sheet indicated 95% PG, so it is concentrated. Not sure what the dilution ratio would be to get the desired strength, but the melting (freeze) point is...
