Bayliner 180 BR - 115hp Mercury Outboard - Plane issues

Yep...that is what I do, adjust the pitch until I get max rpm with just me. When passengers are added you should still get decent performance. When my kids were at home, I often swapped my spare prop ( 2" less pitch) when ever they took friends along to play on water toys.

Sure your motor is running at its peak ?? Water logged foam in boat hull ? Not sure it sounds like a prop issue to me. What is max RPM rating from mfgr.

its been a sad time the past few weeks.

My wife is pretty much dissabled, I have been retired for 6 years, we are downsizing and getting rid if stuff, but not much junk. Just stuff we can't/ don't use anymore. Much is still in good condition but folks expect you to give it away.. Well you no longer want it so why should I pay...

    Glasspar Avalon 1966 pricing

Not a guarantee of no rot without testing. Not being coarse here, but at that age, any buyer with boat knowledge will expect to be able to test the structure or they will walk away. Some small core samples would prove the structure is solid.....just warning you, a buyer is going to want proof...

    Glasspar Avalon 1966 pricing

A lot will depend on how much rotted wood is in the transom and stringers. This will be the first thing people will want to know. Is the seller going to allow the structure to be tested ??

Surprise My electric car is not charged.

Unfortunately big gov't is telling people that if you go green it will stop especially if you spend lots of money. In reality, man can't stop it, but he can take that money to protect himself from being a statistic. Whose bright idea was it anyway to think that ocean front property that is at...

Gonna be an interesting mount your gonna have to make...Have you considered cutting the swim deck, either shorter or cut a notch to clear a kicker ?? Generally speaking the cav plate on the kicker needs to be even with the hull bottom when motor is operating. Not the very bottom of the hull...

    Starter fluid everytime....

Unfortunately thru the years, I have witnessed people using this fluid by the gallon. This is where the problem comes in. A whiff is fine but many just open the spray and let it flood in while cranking the engine. Even witnessesed a blown head gasket from excess use. People are frustrated...

    Boat Pricing

If you not familiar with boats, it would pay to spend the money on a good marine survey ( thorough inspection by an expert) as there could be many expensive hidden disasters that you wouldn't see.

    Starter fluid everytime....

Every motor I ever owned liked a particular sequence, if you didn't follow it exactly, they were hard to start. Once you get your choke system figured out, experiment with starting procedures and see if that might help. My Merc 40 doesn't like the key pushed in while cranking like the manual...

battery charging issue has me stumped

Over my many years of owning various vehicles that use batteries, I have saw some crazy things with batteries. They can get an internal short in them that ( for lack of proper terminology) makes the battery absorb the charge and makes it disapear. Have had more than one battery appear to hold...
