because sierra is a common aftermarket marine parts supplier and that's what was locally available ...
The 5.0 is a small block chevy ... the two filters long and short that Scott references or any aftermarket cross equivalent ( that means there are probably 50-60 different filter part numbers...
As mentioned would check alignment as possible cause of hard to remove.
Sometimes can be tough to differentiate between liquid from gimbal bearing grease and drive lube in bellows. Would pressure test the drive when off. Brown ring looks like grease and water mix.
Remember to glue the big...
Yes 2x4 pushing off rams. If gimbal bearing is rusted to the driveshaft can be hard to remove- this can happen if bellows leak water . Can also get seized to coupler but would not expect that given time involved.
I think there are a coupler small slots where you can put a big flat head or...
I was able to reconnect mine and cover with shrink sleeve. Best if you can solder the wires together and then shrink sleeve over or use a low temp solder butt splice
Sure this is fine. In the old days I used to squirt oil in through the spark plugs holes and bump the engine with coil disconnected.
I also have done nothing some years and that is ok too, the engine will not be damaged if it sits without fogging for a couple months.
Toyota wanted $550 for one for our 16 Highlander after we lost the second one... I saved a few bucks buying the fob on line from same dealer as they discount their web parts vs walk-in... saved about $100...
impact can certainly mess with transom assembly seal, but usually there is a hole in the outdrive... OP needs to do some investigation to see where it is leaking in before cause can be determined
It might work. I did a 4.3=> swap and kept the 1.81 V6 drive, just stepped up from 19" to 21" pitch (3=>blade). At the time the boat only had 37 hours on it so I hated to swap the drive out for the 1.62 it should have come with
A 23" pitch might work especially if it is something that has cup...
Bilge heater doesn’t work when the power is out … not sure how many plugs to pull-my mercruiser has 5 plugs takes all of ten minutes to drain. Not sure why fo,ks down south dont do this
If you got that trimmed out I would leave it alone. Should have been a nice upgrade vs the 5.0?
So If i read this correctly you are basically at the same rpm as with the 5.0? I did a 4.3 =>5.0 repower and had to go up 2" in pitch. How much can you trim up? I found with the right prop...
My grandfather had this set up on his 1966 Penn Yan . If i recall the white pump took atf And had very little capacity in it. We had some leaks and kept a oil can with a bendible nozzle on it as we had to refill it almost evry time out. I think later the mechanic we used replaced it with an MC1...
Antiphon valve will be on tope of tank. Someone added this screw on filter As they are not standard on 2.5/3.0 s that have the filter in the bowl of pump. You are pulling enough suction in the pump to collapse the pump filter. So something uo stream is closed off.
