Replace points with cd 1976 Evinrude 35

I do see the two coil part numbers based on the pull start and electric start. Did you buy the right one? Next up, carb sinked up right with the ignition? Not sure how to do that motor but the timing should advance before the carb opens up. Here is a video of someone who thinks it's the top...

67 Johnson 40 HP electric shift wiring

When I trace your wiring schematic, one of the wires that comes from your cut out switch goes to the solenoid so not sure why you say starter switch. Also, I could not find your soloniod in the starter group breakdown but did find one on eBay. I don't see anything out of the ordinary though...

    1999 Johnson 35hp 3 cylinder

I'm thinking you got plugged up somehow in the no wake zone or you have a bad thermostat. Start with the water pump but then you may need to go through some more stuff. Don't ignore it though because it's bound to come back.

Yamaha 4SG leaking water around tilt lock plate pin

I had a newer 4 hp but the leg configuration was the same. The rubber cover is where you disconnect the shift linkage....Never really looked at mine but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see water coming out from the spot you pointed out. Did you check head temperature?

    How much water?

I would pull the foot and inspect/double check pump. After installing you can put a cordless drill on the driveshaft and test in a barrel of some kind. I would want to know before I went to the river.

    How much water?

You might have burned up the impeller running it without enough water. Either way, pull the gearcase and be done with it.

    How much water?

Because it's being forced up there. Pump is not self priming so must be higher than the pump at least when running in a tank. Clip some muffs on it or raise your water level.

Could be a small crack in your air box.

    How much water?

You say you flushed it out through the water pump discharge. Do you mean the pickup tube? If you did flush through the pickup tube and water came out and it won't with the pump than you must have done something wrong. Keeper seems the most likely.
