    Adding straight gas to mix

That could be part of the problem. What fuel system cleaner do you use, if at all? When was the last time you drained and cleaned the fuel system, tank included, and decarbed the motor? Nonsense….. I burn at least 40 gallons of “gas dryer” through my outboard every year. Keeps the fuel system...

    Optima blue top for starting?

Might as well....you have nothing to loose. I've since switched over to RV batteries (deep cycle) with very good results. 10 years on last pair

    Grass Cutting

I only cut fields (weeds) 3-4 times a years. The hay burners take care of the rest. Tried to let it go until Memorial day last year. Will not do that again. Too many fawns bedded down. Too many close calls

    Optima blue top for starting?

0 for 2 with Optima. Neither made it out of warranty. One the upside, they replace both batteries under warranty, no questions asked

    Rec gas prices???

Same here. Unfortunately natural gas isn't an option. Only propane....$$$ Would go to heat pump with propane or geothermal backup like my neighbor if I was going to stay in the house more than 5 years and didn't have to tear out and replace the existing duct work. Have no interest whatsoever...

    Radio/speaker Upgrade

“Quality” and “cleaner” don’t belong in the same sentence with marine stereos…lol THD in whole numbers (1%) and SNR in the 70’s are a joke.

    Radio/speaker Upgrade

My unit has aux (RCA) inputs so it was rather easy. Just plug in the adapter and connect to power. I don't have an amp so I connected the BT adapter power to the (switched) power output to the amp. Works like a charm

    Radio/speaker Upgrade

Something to think about.... Went on the search for a new Radio/Head unit last year to upgrade mine. Pretty much had my mind set of a Fusion MS-RA210 but was having a tough time justify spending the money to replace a perfectly serviceable 4 channel head with CD to "upgrade" to Bluetooth. In...

    Transducer installation query

Not on any Garmin units I've seen......it shoots out the sides of the mount. Drowns the side of my motor like in the video. Worried about taking out my trim buttons on that side. I was one of the early guinea pigs.... No such thing available commercially at the time. Garmin sent me a...

    Transducer installation query

And be forewarned that the location noted in the install manual isn’t negotiable. Too far off center line and the side scan beam hits the lower unit, cutting off the picture. One other thing…did the unit come with a spray shield for the transducer? Unless they redesigned the mount, which it...

    Transducer installation query

It will not work. GT side scan has to be on the transom.

    Transducer installation query

Experimented quite a bit on my last boat. Couldn’t not for the life of me to get a transom mount to run clean. Didn’t want to install a thru-hull so I started exploring shoot thru installations. After experimenting with a couple of different installation methods, epoxy shelf, flat spot, etc...

2 cycle oil in primer bulb

It shouldn't do that. The fuel system is not vented to atomsphere (under vacuum). You have a leak in your fuel system somewhere.

    Transducer installation query

Transom mounts are always problematic in this regard thus the popularity of in-hull and thru-hull applications Having said that, are you using it as a "depth gauge" or a "fish finder"? Big difference in the "quality of the mount" required for both applications
