    5.0gi TBI to Carb

I’m not sure about the wiring set up on the Volvo but I think if you can study the schematic you might be able to figure it out. If someone has one to post up then we can make suggestions

350 MAG winterizing - which method is correct?

Yep that's what worries me. I'll use the 5 gallon bucket under the garboard drain, if it comes close to filling it, fine, if not then I hope we can reach the drains on the block on this boat. Merc really should have alternate instructions on what to do if the damn thing clogs up! The old style...

    Polishing or paint

I’d try to restore the gel if you can, painting is expensive and may not be as durable as gel depending on what paint is used. That said I had mine painted in Imron ten years ago and it still looks great.

350 MAG winterizing - which method is correct?

These systems might work on an aluminum block engine but on cast iron it’s risky because of how cast iron corrodes; it flakes off and those flakes clog up those single drain systems. Maybe in fresh water that’s not corrosive but in salt…risky. Going to winterize my brothers boat with the Merc...

350 MAG winterizing - which method is correct?

That looks like some kind of single point drain system…follow the hoses & see where they terminate. Is there a valve or cap on the end? If so the one thing that you want to watch for is how much water actually drains from each one. The block should hold 2 1/2–31/2 gallons each manifold about 1/2...

Mercruiser 5.0 crankshaft front oil seal replacement

While the old style tin parts can rust through I think they’re better than plastic! Just spray the timing chain cover & oil pan once a year with Corrosion X. Worked for me 20+ years in salt water!

    5.7 Automotive Intake manifold

You can find cast iron used intakes (won't find new for a '94, that should be a pre-vortec 12 bolt unit) on ebay, I found a nice spare for my old pre-vortec 4.3 that way. If you meant that you have a closed cooling system, then yes you could use an aluminum automotive intake, the corrosion...

Has anyone built a boat with Marine Plywood

There's a guy on the hull truth forum who built a Toleman, check it out, beautiful boat, a tree fell on it in a storm and he was able to repair it himself.

    yamaha fourstroke crank bearings

You get the idea that they don't want anyone rebuilding them, but shops that sell remans, must get those parts from somewhere!

    Winterizing time!

Perhaps Scott can say, I don't have any OMC Stringer experience, only on the Cobra which is more like a Mercrusier.

    Winterizing time!

Check bellows, gimble bearing and ujoints, and also engine alignment....yearly is what is recommended....mine lives in the salt water 6 months each year, if you don't do this, sooner or later it will bite you in the wallet! Original transom mount, trim pump, trim rams, ujoints, just a few drive...

    Winterizing time!

If you don't pull the drive regularly on an I/O and your bellows leaks, the repair cost will surprise you. These I/Os are high maintenance machines unlike outboards and need regular maintenance to be reliable. I do mine every year and have avoided repairs that many others get stuck with....

    1988 Rogue 2420

I know many scoff at my opinion on this but I have gotten great service out of Kenda Load Star bias ply trailer tires. I run em till I see cracks starting then replace. That works out to about every 7 years. Never even had a flat let alone a delamination. I’m not a fan of radial trailer tires...
