    1992 40hp johnson fuel

Welcome to iboats I suspect that engine has an Oil Mixing System, and the Oil is kept in a Separate Tank. I also doubt an Engine requiring the use of Premixed Gas, would have lasted 2 hours if run without Oil

    Speed Plateaus at 5200rpm

I used the Enertia as a Example as to what is possible with a Blade Design. My Avatar pic, was shot when the Boat had an OMC RAKER, that used to be on my 150 FICHT(had to replace the Rubber Hub to a VP) I don't think the Enertia is made in a size that will fit on a 115hp engine.

Blade design will certainly raise/lower the Bow, with no change of trim.

1988 V135 Reeves timing method vs the Merc book?

If the throttle Plates open too soon, as in not enough Timing Advance, erratic Operation is the result. Most outboards had all the Timing advance in, before there was any real opening of the Throttle Plates, they run fine that why, and it enabled the throttle to be closed once the engine had...

    Speed Plateaus at 5200rpm

A 4 blade will likely drop the Bow. A prop with more Rake will help raise the Bow. Enertia is such a Prop, actually it will lift the entire Boat Vertically, as well give a completely different feel as to how the boat handles.

1988 V135 Reeves timing method vs the Merc book?

Primary Pickup Timing is the Spec for when the Carbs are about to no longer remain fully Closed. It is not Idle Speed Timing, as the spec is well advanced of what the Timing needs to be to attain Idle Speed

    Speed Plateaus at 5200rpm

Okay, but if there is spare Throttle Movement, which gives no increase in Rpms, something is not Kosher. I am not familiar with current Suzukis, so... Is there an actual Throttle Cable going to that engine, or is it a Fly by Wire Electronic Throttle Control?

    Speed Plateaus at 5200rpm

More Pitch means more load and more load, results in lower Rpm. What year is your Suzuki?

    Speed Plateaus at 5200rpm

That last sentence appears to indicate that a Rev Limiter has been activated. More Pitch will bring the Rpms down

You have no clue as to what the Primary Pickup Timing is

    90hp Mariner doesn’t start

I was referring to using a Rope to get the Compression Test done. And yes that engine is easy to Pull Start, as I used to do that with my 84 115, when it had a Weak Battery.

There is no such thing as a Idle Timing Spec on these Motors.

    90hp Mariner doesn’t start

Fuel can and does spill out of the carbs any time the Engine is tilted up. Those carbs are also famous for the Floats getting stuck in the Fuel Bowl. Even if the starter or battery is pooched, that engine is easy to pull using the Rope, as all the Plugs are out. Have you checked that all...

    1991 mariner 175hp carb engine

There is Max Advance Spec, and a Primary Pickup Timing Spec. but there is no Idle Timing Spec. What is the Engine's Serial #?

Mercury kicker steering linkage mounting point

Running another Steering Cable from the Helm would be a better and likely safer way to steer the kicker, as it then wouldn't matter what the Outdrive was tilted at.

85 HP force motor. 2 questions!

Fuel Economy, 2 mpg, sounds quite Reasonable. You can't treat/adjust this thing like you do a Car/Truck engine. There is no Idle Timing spec, as Spark Timing is what determines the Idle Speed. The Carbs are fully Closed at Idle, and will remain so for quite awhile as the engine speeds up. With...

    Battery...

Buy a Marine Battery, Dual purpose Batteries aren't really all that great in either Role. Get a Starting Battery, just don't discharge it heavily. Of course you can buy whatever Battery you want, but keep in mind, it takes a lot of Effort to Paddle back when the Battery Dies
