    1999 Caravelle VDO Speedometer

That’s called a paddle wheel speed sensor. Common, fairly generic item actually. The issues will be finding one with the right connector to suit your speedometer. Might be cheaper in the long run to purchase a gps driven speedo. Also much more accurate than a paddle wheel

    The right cooler

Know lots about coolers.....nothing about Fun Ships It would help if you give the dimensions of the cooler you are looking for.

    How damaged are these threads.

Tapered pipe threads. Not bad at all... Grind off the top distorted thread(s). Taper the end just a wee bit and it will thread right back on. Use pipe sealer if you need a water proof connection

    Impulse/Uniden depth gauge

Transducers are consumables. The chances of it working are pretty small. Not to mention transducer connectors are not standardized between vendors. Matching a head to the transducer would tough. Easier and less risk to just replace the unit in its entirety

Little known salt water impeller housing

What does “heavy duty” buy you? Is this a Chrysler specific issue? I run outboards in saltwater 300-400 hours a season. Easily 200 hours of that trolling. Never had cooling issues. If anything, I run too cold while trolling.

    Trim tab feedback

Agree..... My 200 HP jumps right up on plane with a much bigger (22’-6”), heavier (#4,500) boat. I’m running hydraulic tabs but only use to adjust running angle and “lean” once up on plane

    remove woodruff from tapered shaft?

How is that? A puller pushes on the end of the shaft

    remove woodruff from tapered shaft?

By design you can’t over torque a taper fit. The nut simply keeps the hub from falling off the shaft. Removing a hub from a taper fit typically requires the use of a “puller” of some sort. As you have found you can go caveman and beat and pry the hub off at the risk of damaging other...

The figure 8 is a simple overhand knot partially pulled down. Guessing your matching line diameters but keep in mind that the ultimate breaking strength of the line is determined by knot strength of the weaker of the two lines. There are three advantage of braid do to its small diameter per...
