    The VP drive uses a 26 tooth 1-5/32 spline ,(like a GM truck) Any drive plate with the ford clutch pattern will work. Even the one from my 1988 290DP. What is wrong with yours that a wire brush and paint would not cure? They are about $120 from most drive line shops

    400's with Siamese bores will be fine in a boat. However they are externally balanced. So you need the right flywheel for it. If it's stock, the drive will survive. Make sure it does not have any go-fast parts. It needs a truck cam or boat cam

    Transom repair on Lakeland fiberglass.

    you cut out the inner skin, use a grinder to remove the remaining wood bits and scarify the inside hull surface. then you bond the fiberglass to the outer hull and clamp the wood in place until the PB cures. then you lay new fiberglass and tab in the new inner skin.
