Water leak to the bilge from transom please help

That would make me think it is bellows so depending on position of outdrive it leaks or doesn’t

    Engine stalls when accelerating

If you are confident in fuel pressure Probably need to strip and rebuild carb cleaning out passages inside

    Shift interrupter switch.

If you are using a bravo ignition module since it was a bravo tear out the shift interrupt will not work Bravo drives with a cone clutch do not require shift interrupt I think you need to swap a alpha module Did you get rid of the belt driven water pump as well ? Not sure if that can be run...

    Sterndrive

Are you locking it in forward by holding the prop ccw with a bungee cord so you cam turn it and the drive shaft splines to align the coupler and drive shaft ?

    Top end speed

Define long periods of time … I have run both of my boats (especially the 3.0) between 4-5k towing tubes skiers etc for extended periods Of time 3.0 Lasted 25 years still had great compression (145) when I sold it ran great. On my seventh season on a 5.0 and hit it the same way full boat...

1991 carburated 4.3 fuel pump output.

No that is not how an antiphon valve works. It is supposed to prevent the tank from siphoning out into the bilge in the event of a fuel line leak, hence why it is located right on top of the tank … yes there is a cracking pressure like a check valve u reference but that is not the purpose of it

    Quicksilver ?

    Exhaust coming out below bellow

If the exhaust bellows aren’t in water then the boat isn’t in the water …gas fumes are another issue On the trailer my old boat with a 3.0 was louder than my current boat with a 5.0 the water is the muffler…

    Exhaust coming out below bellow

They are holes cast into transom housing so at idle the exhaust doesn’t have to push out 2 ft of water to propeller hub. No adjustment or replacement is needed it’s completely normal

    Quicksilver ?

Agreed only replace if it’s bad /rough. My 2004 still has original graspable bearing. To op nothing wrong with the sealed bearing . If either one gets wet it’s done for …

Hard starts after sitting for a week or so

Sorry you have to adjust the linkage such that when u pump the throttle it closes all the way maybe 1/16” gap When it warms the coil will open the choke flap completely vertical . The linkages can get corroded and gummed up the heating coil doesn’t consistently work etc

Hard starts after sitting for a week or so

If choke is only closed till there is a 1/4” you have to loosen up the element and linkage so it does close fully . You should be able to twist it with some effort U pump the throttle to set the choke ( close it ) and power is applied when the engine runs eventually heating up the choke coil...

    Top end speed

Not likely you need more power to go faster as jimbo laid out I had a similar size boat with 3.0 for many years. Was reliable fuel efficient and easy to work one , but speed was not its game. I used 4 blade Michigan vortex props for low end grunt spend many an hour towing kids at 4k rpm Best...

Moved motor from ski boat to pontoon what prop should i change to???

Might work but I would think a 9 would raise it 1200 rpm or so vs current 15” … still too low and lugging

Moved motor from ski boat to pontoon what prop should i change to???

Not sure what the recommended wot rpm of your engine is. Would assume 5500 Or so I think based on the fact your current prop is a 15” pitch you need like a 9” pitch, which is really low. You may need a different gear case to push a pontoon as based of the numbers given I don’t think you can get...

If you can i would keep it on a trailer vs leave it in the water, use it this summer and fix over winter. in theory you Keep an eye on it if u leave in the water but that would worry me Unless there is someone to watch it daily….then make sure your bilge pump works and you have a charger for...
