    Trim motor test results

As noted above, it’s a useless measure to determine the condition of a motor. intermittent operation of a motor points to winding or connection issues. Given the circumstances, my first test would be to check the operation and wiring between the switch (contacts) and the relay stack. Pull...

    Trim motor test results

Measuring resistance through the armature confirms that the windings (paths) are intact. Does not tell you if the insulation between the (paths) are intact. You can not adequately test a motor (armature) w/o a growler...

Replacing carburetor hoses with tygon ?

The stick and stone catcher isn’t an issue if you installed a quality, properly sized separating filter. Some filters have a pretty bad pressure drop right of the box. I would stay away from filters that don’t spec a pressure drop.

    Any home brewers out there?

Worked for a German company for 10+ years or so. Spent a lot of time in small town outside Nuremberg. Visited quite a few of the local area breweries over the years. Your missing out if you don't find enjoyment in a liter or two of the local Hefeweizen. Or better yet, a Dunkelweizen. Bamberg...

Best Method for loosening stuck bolts.

Lube with your favorite penetrating oil. I keep a can of PB blaster around the house. Use kroil at the shop Take a good size ball peen hammer, small head to the bolt, and give ball peen a good smack or three with a second hammer. The idea is not to beat or bend the bolt, but too shock stress...

Clearing salt build up from block

Salt (NaCl) is water soluble. The real issues is that most of the "salt" you see is a combination of chloride, sodium, sulfate, calcium, potassium and magnesium salt deposits. The calcium, potassium and magnesium deposits are the tough ones. We use chemicals (acids) designed to clean...

    Tips, Hints and Other Ideas

Old farmers trick.... a tubeless tire comes off the rim. A can of starting fluid and matches is all you need. Remove wheel and lay on ground. Spray starting fluid inside tire around circumference of rim. Don’t need a lot. Then quickly light the fumes. I use the strike (match) and toss method...

    Fog

Size is relative. The radar signature of a 40’ tall conning tower on a sub is “small” compared to the 12 story (180’) tall super structure of the 1,200 foot long container ships that lm normally on the lookout We have lot of barge traffic well but they stay in the barge channel, well away from...
