Boat two stroke engine stalls when throttle is applied unless I throttle up very slowly

Probably needs carb rebuild with a proper kit. Sitting for a year probably didnt help.

Mercury 90 running super rough, fuel coming out from throats of carbs.

Do a complete rebuild with rebuild kit for each carb. Just taking them apart usually doesnt work well and they will end up needing rebuilt anyway

    Engine turning over very slowly

If the battery is actually reading 12 volts then you battery is almost dead!! Full battery should read 12.6 volts or higher.. At 12.3 volts a battery is half dead, anything 11.9 volts or less is considered dead. You need to charge up your battery to start

    Gear Oil Questions

Years back I switched to full synthetic gear lube...I know, another syn oil thread....nope, I found a definet improvement in shifting anf performance in both I/O mercruiser, and my Jonnyrude motors. I normall use the walleyworld oil as it is Valvoline gear oil. My recent purchase of a 92 Merc...

    Ventelation cures

Yep, we are now thinking similiar....the current prop is not cupped ! That is what made me think a cupped prop may help. Yes it vents to easy, shouldnt be that easy. When I said bog down, I didnt mean real bad, just more sluggish than a real bog. Hard to find the right words....going to visit...

Rerouted fuel line...too much to lift?

When it starts to die out just squeeze the inline ball, if it comes back to life then the vacuum might be an issue, but if it still bogs down then fuel pump is not the issue.

    Ventelation cures

The only transducer is off to the side, nothing else there, my grandson drove while I looked and yes the plate appears to be at or slightly below the surface of the water. There is alot of spray comming up from around the back , not sure why.....if I tuck the motor all the way down and throttle...

    Ventelation cures

No real marking on the prop other than pitch. Being a 92 could be anything, it is aluminum,I know that. My Islander was no barge, she topped 34 mph with two men and fishing gear, easy to make trim adjustments as it wasnt touchy and adjustments were very noticible!! On my 16' the slightest...

Fuel tank size on 92 Sylvan 16' Sea Troller

Tried that route but no fuel capacity info, just the fact that it has a built in tank. Went out and looked deep inside my boat...not pretty....fuel tank is under the rear live well and completely covered except for hoses going in and out. Even tried sticking my phone under there to see if...

Two batteries for small fising boat

Cant run or charge two batteries together unless they are the same type of battery. Install a switch then run/ charge each one seperately. Your best bet for overall health of your batteries is to charge them at home and keepbthem on a battery maintainer. That is how I keep my boat and...

Two batteries for small fising boat

Dual purpose batteries will not maintain as long as a true deep cycle!! If your serious about using your trolling motor for hours get a true deep cycle group 27 or 31. If you have an issue with weight, get a small utility battery such as a wheel chair battery as a starting battery for your 15...

Fuel tank size on 92 Sylvan 16' Sea Troller

It is buried with hatches on both sides like many are. Appears to be aluminum so I hope I never have to replace it. Getting some dimensions and calculating was on my list, hoping someone might know. Thanks

16ft Lund aluminium boat rivet size for bottom hull?

In the past when replacing rivets, I usually went with oversize rivets if the holes were sloppy. Years back they were easy to find. I made my own bucking tools and could make the rivets a tight fit. However, I still added some sealant to make them water tight. All jokes aside I have found "...

Caught another boats anchor, whos fault?

Last time I was stopped for a safety inspection ( 3 yrs back) I has discussed this with the officer as I had been almost run over while at anchor perch fishing. The officer pulled out a phamphlet and showed the rule where a boat under power must maintain a distance of 100 feet and slow down to...

    Ventelation cures

Hull looks perfect, no hook, nice straight keel, barely a scratch. Boat gets up on plane well as long as you manipulate the trim. Just never had a boat where the trim is so sensative....just wondering if cupping or a slightly larger prop dia might lesson the venting
