    That is the old , old style wire core , coated cable.----Very durable I think.

    The 20 HP Johnson model is essentially the same as the 18 HP Evinrude.----Different color paint.---Different cylinder head ?

    Tested this solenoid yourself ?-----Why would you need a new solenoid for the choke ?----What is your motor doing / not doing??----Does motor start right up with manual choke ?

    ???---Test the choke solenoid !!----Simple jumper wire from battery side of start solenoid the choke solenoid should make it click.----I doubt that solenoid is faulty !

    Correct.----Just need to remove one of those on each carburetor.------What is your motor doing / not doing.----

    Are you sure that ignition will be damaged on this motor, by testing one cylinder at a time ??
