    Exhaust manifold tap size

Not sure what engine you are working but assuming it is chevy based ...3/8 -16 i believe. A bottom tap helps you get farther into blind holes so i generally buy these when getting a tap

    Hydrolocked in the parkinglot

This is the correct answer i wouldn’t go hammering it as mentioned by OP. Like in a carb there are passages that are drilled after casting that have welch plugs in them to block them off where needed.

VIDEO Help: Post Texas Freeze Leak

Is it worth replacing the motor? Probably if the rest of the boat is in reasonable shape. Cost for a remanufactured long block is about $2500, labor low side =$1500 . So a reman long block all in could be $4-5 k up to $11 k if you get a mercuiser bobtail installed at a dealer with a 3 yr...

How to tell what carb I need?!?

I believe you are correct that the 350 mag should be a 4 bbl, but i think in yiur video it is showing a rochetser Quadra jet which is a 4 bbl. to be honest the video was not too useful as the camera was flopping all over the place . if you post just a close up of the carb and manifold it would...

Mercruiser 3.0 strange sound at low end acceleration

I wonder if it is detonation. Id see if the spark plugs look lean, you can find some photos by goggling how to read spark plugs. If they are looking lean set the ignition timing and check fuel delivery, fuel filter verify fuel pressure and rebuild carb

    Merc 5.0 TKS Heat Issue

The alarm circut is triggered of a temp switch on the thermostat housing tan blue wire going to it. Its in parallel to oil pressure switch and drive lube sensor. Any of those three sensors go to ground to trip the alarm. Easy to test one by one. Unplug them when alarm goes off. Verify temp...

    Question on fuel

I suspect if you had to do multiple or frequent carb rebuilds there was contamination of the fuel tank that continued to dose problems into the carb or the carb cleanings were not successful in completely cleaning the carb. Im not throwing you any shade, as Ive had plenty of issues rebuilding...

    4.3 Mercruiser cold start issues

Pretty well known issue with hot rod folks here. My coworker has a holley on his 69 firebird, doesnt even try to start it in the spring without replacing the float bowl gaskets because of leaks. The one piece fuel bowl and no power valve blow out issues are two real advantages of the Edelebrock

    1989 5.7 Mercuiser exhaust plugged

Freshwater they generally dont corrode, but could have debris in them. Would open to inspect the water passages. Also possible that if the water pump impeller disintegrated there are pieces of it clogging water flow, especially in thermostat housing . folks here can walk you through it.

    4.3 Mercruiser cold start issues

In general the edlebrock is a good carb very easy to tune If needed. I have. Two one on the boat and one on my 65 GTO. I wouldn’t hesitate to by an other one.

    1989 5.7 Mercuiser exhaust plugged

Remove the risers from the manifolds and inspect the water passages. not sure the year but if used in salt or brackish and they are 5 + years old likely they will need replacement . Drain the manifold before you take the riser off

2014 350 mag cat, port manifold/riser considerably hotter?

Its typical to see a 20-30 degree difference in manifold temps. If you can keep your hand on them I suspect you are fine. Might want to use an IR thermometer to check temps.

    Question on fuel

It depends on how fast you consume the gas. In my experince if you burn through it I have not had issues from typical pump gas. I run ethanol from the pump in my jetski because I fill it from a 5 gal can and go the marina to fill the boats 37 gallon tank because it is easier and worth the $ for...

    4.3 Mercruiser cold start issues

Maybe 25-30 seconds. It seems like a long time when cranking and the buzzer is going off. I think not only is it refilling the bowl but getting gas through the idle circut passages again.
