    This boat has a pair of 90 HP outboards.-----I would remove bypass covers on the 75 PSI cylinders.

    Check flywheel key.----Or perhaps switch plug wires.-----And does spark jump a gap of at least 5/16" , yes or no ?

    Is this a 3 or 4 cylinder motor ?--Serial # is ?---Ignition problem I say.----I can not see , hear or feel your motor.---Answer this.----Do you have consistent spark that jumps a gap of 3/8" or more on all leads.---Yes or no ?----And the spark plugs are not involved in this simple test.

    Set them all at 1-1/2 turn out.----Then adjust equally until bogging goes away.----Some folks find it hard to believe it might be a simple fix !

    There is no way that this engine could run to wear out the rings to less than 25 PSI.-----An owner would know there is something WRONG.----A head gasket fails suddenly.

    I would say this motor has a blown head gasket.----Easy fix.----Head will be warped.---True it up.----Replace gasket.----Go fishing.

    It would not run with those compression numbers.====Remove cylinder head and have a look.---Could be a blown head gasket.-----Look at the model # again.

    Open low speed mixture screws about 1/8th turn at a time.-----That usually makes the bogging go away.----Do this with boat floating in the water.

    Remove bearing housing under the water pump.----Replace oil seals on that housing.------These gearcases are not robust in my opinion.----Very important to keep water out of them.----Use top quality gear oil.

    You have to lift the powerhead off.-----You have to split the block.----You have to lift the crankshaft about 1/2" to get reed blocks out.----What is your motor doing / not doing for you ????

    They used to have a sound blanket in them.-----No and that will not make it run hot.----Did you install a new water pump impeller after you bought this motor ?---If not it is time to do so.

    Those reeds are very durable.-----Why do you suspect an issue with the reeds ??

    Remove lower unit.----Measure shift rod height.----Post that value.-----Set correct shift rod height.----Test run.
