    Timing on these motors just does NOT go out of adjustment.-----Trouble shooting skills are fading away in the sunset.----Huge repair costs at the local shops force some to diagnose at home. -----Turning this or that in the hope of a magic fix is the wrong approach.

    Laser printed decals should never have been allowed.-----Stamped metal tags.----Or stamped on the block !!------Plastic is cheaper on the production line.-----Not useful after 20 years of exposure to the elements.

    If graphics / paint are original your motor might be identified in seconds.----Post some pictures including the cowling.

    Post an actual picture of the #4 and #5 terminals on your motor terminal strip !----Do not guess with wiring as it can be a smoky / expensive lesson.

    There is a 12 volt power supply ( fused ) that goes to the ignition switch.-----Comes off the solenoid.----What manual does the wirinh diagram come from ??

    Driveshaft might rotate at 5000 RPM.----Propshafts rotate at half that.-----I have looked at many seals on 30 year old motors.-----Seal lips are half worn.----They must be replaced !

    The magneto on the 1976 model 25 might be different than what is shown in the video above.-----The rear set ( starboard side ) points might open to fire the top cylinder via the other set of points.----Both set of points must be absolutely clean.
