    Agreed.----You need the correct lanyard clip for that kill switch.-----If you push that wee button in it might start.

    Control box is not needed to start / run it.----Just hook up a battery to protect the charging system.-----Motor will start and run by jumping the starter motor.-----Operate the primer valve manually for cold starting.----Motor could be started with rope if you have a weak battery.----

    I assume you mean the manual release for power trim / tilt.----You remove circlip ( installed at the factory ) and remove the screw.------Replace o-ring.-----Install screw.-----Install circlip.

    They made thousands of these motors over the production years.----Not all were left in the water 24/7 in my opinion.-----Lots of good used shafts can be found.

    Adjust the choke solenoid.----And have your battery load tested.-----A fast spinning flywheel is needed to get near instant starting on these fine motors.

    If I was ambitious I could likely find one of those washers and measure it.-----But shop time is $0.80 a minute.-----Have a few of those midsections laying around ready to be sent for scrap.
