    Those numbers sound high.-----So yes , use your own gauge and report your numbers.-----Many parts will interchange , but not all.

    Just an example of poor information found in some manuals.-----That information might be for a motor with automatic oil injection system.------If you trust some of these manuals you could be making expensive mistakes !!!

    Why do you say ----" not E-TEC " -----about these motors ?????-----Johnson marketed carbureted 175 HP modeld in 2005.----The model # posted indicates a 2005 EVINRUDE.

    Best to call your local BRP / Evinrude shop for an opinion.----Also look into availability and price of some parts too !!

    The E makes it an Evinrude.-----The F makes it a direct injected computer controlled motor.------You would need BRP / Evinrude dealer support at $100 + / hour for service work.----Might not be easy to find a shop to work on it.

    No thermostat on 58 models.-----Thermostats came out in the 59 model year.

    Spline on pump shaft.-----Nothing to disconnect.-----You have to hope that no water got in there to jam the splines with rust.----Inspect / check pump gear box for water before spending any beer tokens,

    Looks like some rebuilders are not offering those anymore.------Use google and you might find some at about $3000 or more.----Had a fellow from the -----" rock " ----stop by and was looking for a pair of 90 HP used /rebuilt outboards.------Not sure if he is going to come back with a deposit. ---
