    In my opinion it is elegantly easy to beef up a transom.-----I am doing a 40 year old boat , all the rotten wood ( beaver puke ) came out and no wood is being used in the repairs !

    Correct the enricher is a valve.----Post # 1 clearly states that you were expecting fuel to come out of the enricher.

    The enricher is NOT a pump.-------Some will argue but i would start with charging the battery.----Load testing the battery even if new.----Press the key in while cranking so that the enricher works.

    You will find that the 1969 model 85 was lighter.----Tipping the scales at 245 lbs as per my 1969 factory brochure.----For some folks it is hard to believe that older motors were lighter than the modern sleek motors.

    Removing the INTAKE bypass covers should be easy.-----The EXHAUST cover is often harder to remove because cooling water get into bolt threads.-----Remove intake bypass covers.----But those pictures of cylinders are not encouraging.----Free motors can be expensive.

    Some lumber products last longer than others.----Look up ----huon pine----For boat building.------No idea what the stuff cost but apparently ultra rot resistant.----Apparently this wood can resist rot for 1000+ years.
