Hopefully this is of some help...... #80 is the guide, it pictures just one but there are two of them, one being slightly longer than the other...... #90 is the screw on plate with the guide ridges...... #81 is one of the grommets...... #93 is the O Ring that goes on top of the driveshaft

    Time To Sign Off......

My friends, associates, fellow members... Lately, that is for a number of months now, I find that I have entered posts/replies, that when entered seemed perfectly logical and correct whereas nothing could possibly be in error. However, in hindsight... sometimes at a later time or date a dawning...

    Both outboards no spark

Yes, in lightening it up, I can clearly see that all 3 of the black coils are melting down and that the stator needs replacing. As time goes by and you finally get that engine running, pay attention to your tachometer. If it acts up, wrong reading, intermittent, doesn't work at all... it...

    Both outboards no spark

The picture of your stator is too dark for me to actually get a clear view of it to say/agree that it has melted down or not. I'll see if I can capture it so as to edit the graphic. EDIT: Yeah I was able to edit the graphic and see some minor melting... BUT... unfortunately you entered the top...

In this forum, and no doubt all others, a Blue Box Hyperlink has been added which appears at anything over 6 clicks scrolling downward. Its presence blocks the topic of the very last post. It was added as I understand it to accommodate someone who needed a quick way to return to the top of the...

    Which Gear Is Which?

Going thru my stuff... found a couple gears, both electric shift type but obviously different hp. No, of course I never marked them as I knew I'd remember which was which. Sure I would. (sigh) Okay, on one, the outside edge of the teeth are level with the outside diameter of the gear (21...

    Posting Answers... Problems?

In the last few days, I've encountered problems in posting answers to member questions. A small window pops up asking if I want to leave or stay on the page when I click to post my answer. Unless I copy my answer I lose it if I click to go to another page, and if I stay on the page, I have went...

    Challenge The Impossible!

We, the people that spend hours here helping others could do without that irritating "Challenge The Impossible" ad that pops up every ten seconds or so and every time that we click on something. (Joe Reeves)

    Daselbee (Off Topic Temp)

Your inbox is full and will not accept any more messages... needs cleaning out. Doug... As fate would have it, this morning I had a zillion things to take care of starting with getting up a little after 4:00 AM, finish packaging items for shipment, a trip to TIA (airport), St Pete and...

Annoying Pop Up Ad (Off Topic)

That pop up ad that is constantly sliding up at the bottom of this page annoys me to no end. I'm using AOL's pop up blocker combined with Internet Explorers pop up blocker and can't get rid of it. It bugs me to a point whereas I'm thinking if I can't get rid of it, to simply leave iboats... and...

Old Style Regular Electric Shift Coils

In cleaning out my remaining stock, I came across a set of the electric shift coils which are/were used in the older electric shift models 40hp, 75hp etc from 1962 to somewhere in the early 1970s. The reverse coil (short blue wire) has the same part number for all models, 40hp, 75hp, etc...

    Small HP Con/Rod Fits What?

Clearing out my remaining stock, I've come across a brand new small horsepower connecting rod of which I have no idea what it is, that is... what it fits. It has a casting number on its side...... 388974-6 . Hopefully some one out there has a small horsepower engine tore down that has rods with...

    Mystery Piston ?

This is one of those "Oh, I'll just set it aside and clean it up later. I won't forget what it came out of projects. I do recall it came out of a V6 Evinrude. The measurements below are an approximate as I'm not a machinist. It's obviously a small bore 3.5" piston so I would assume it's a 150hp...

    Off Topic - Illness (2nd)

Back on June 21 of this year I posted a similar notice pertaining to my wife being seriously ill and that my posts might be lacking somewhat due to the fact that she needed my care and time. I appreciate the replies and calls from those of you that were concerned. My wife, Louise... her illness...

    Momentarily Off Topic (Photobucket)

Has anyone had a problem using Photobucket and AOL lately. When using AOL, photobucket is just about impossible to use... albums run off the allotted window, moving the scrolling bar does not cause the albums to move, etc. This makes it somewhat difficult to use it to insert a graphic here...
