    ​I believe that the analog meter has to have a DVA built-in. Digital meter need an external DVA. All the meters will come with instructions on how to check peak voltage. (select DC scale etc...). I have been using a digital reader like this one and it's working just fine so far.

    FW Dan, here is the table from CDI for your motor (the * is for CDI equipment). Trigger resistance is good, Stator is a bit above max range but don't know the extent of the impact it could have. Were you able to measure Peak Voltage?

    Locate the wires coming from trigger Orange/Green,red/white with red stripes.     Hi, I have this internal 6 pins internal harness that needs to be replaced. The wires are all in very bad shape. Does anyone know if I can get a new (newer) one somewhere or can they taken apart and be re-wired? I browse the net without any luck so far. 1964 Mercury mod 651, 65HP. Thank you.

    Why would 2 new coils go bad in 1 hour!!!!????!!!!

    I just changed the 4 coils with the new updated version, . After 1 hr on the water I lost #3 coil followed by #2 coil. What would fry a coil so quickly? or is bad luck? Thank you. PS: also new stator, new trigger and new pacs. All CDI products.

    Took the reeds out finally (I work slowly), I was surprised that it went pretty well and not that difficult after all. . Removing the old gaskets tho was a pain. #1, #2, #3 look good. #4 has two petals not sitting right. I guess that could explain that the bottom cylinder has so much fuel going...

    Thanks. Ok, so here it is, I finally put it back together. Added some clear fuel lines on the fuel recirc system. Also changed the 2 ignition packs and all the coils. Got a flywheel from ebay with magnets in good condition.
