    Trailer Tire Brand

I'm looking to buy new 175/80 13 tires. There's a couple different places that offer a couple different brands for similar price points. Does anyone have any feedback on the following? Gold Crown 6 ply $55 per tire Franks Tire Factory Greenball transmaster $44 walmart Three star $46 Joel's Tire...

    Bilge Pump Discharge Port Location

I'm planning to drill for the port soon and was wondering where people suggest it be located. Above waterline I presume, and not through the transom? I am also thinking the captain's side would be best so he can confirm it's pumping if he ever needs to kick it on. Is it asthetic after that?

    Remote Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I just found out about these thing-a-ma-bobs and was wondering if anyone uses them. It seems like a handy tool for anything with tires at least for calibration purposes.

    1989 60hp 2-Stroke OB Merc - Not running smooth

Hi guys, I have been rebuilding my 1971 Bellboy and took it out last summer for a "quick dip" 1:20 away. I can't quite remember but I think I choked it on a hot day which led me to a 30 minute wait while it fumed out the gas. I finally got it to leave the dock but when I gave it 10% throttle it...

    Replacement Aluminim Boat Ribs?

I can't find these for sale anywhere (Anywhere meaning Google ebay and forum searches). I don't want "C" channel or anything else attached to the existing ribs and I'd prefer actual ribs. I havr the bucking gun and solid rivets, just don't know why these things aren't sold. Thanks in advance.

    Inspection Hatch

I want a sealing inspection port just big enough to get a shop vacuum tube through to suck any standing water out through. The 4" seem overkill for my purposes. Does anyone know of a source for something like this? Thanks

    Tower Base Attachment Ideas

I need to trim a tower to size before mounting it to my boat. I tried finding a 1-3/4" bung to weld into the base of the tubes so I could screw in a Clevis to all four legs, thus allowing me to fold the tower down while in storage or remove the tower easily if needed. Unfortunately, I can't find...

    Humboldt Squid Fishing Gear?

Since it is an El Nino year, I am hoping to catch one of these up in the straights of Juan De Fuca this next weekend. Could anyone give me some advice on how to catch these guys? I've done the smaller 8" species while jigging from a pier, but I was thinking I would drop a whole salmon down about...

Can you post pics of your U-Bolt Trailer Steps/Planks?

I want a way of safely walking my boat off the trailer without spoiling the oysters. I'm not convinced a wood plank would look good, but it seems to be the cheapest method. I would like to do aluminum or galvanized steel, but those seem to get too expensive or so small they wouldn't look good...

    Heat Forming Fuel Tank

I tried a brief search on Iboats, youtube and the net without luck. I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a heat gun or otherwise to form a fuel tank. I have a low splashwell and cannot get my tanks all the way underneath the well. I also can't find any fuel tanks that are designed this...

    Speedometer GUAGE having issues

I know the theory behind the ram pressure providing the means for the gauge to "read" water speed. What I don't understand is how the boat gauges themselves work. Mine will read up to 30MPH at approximately 12 psi on the air compressor, but blowing with my mouth (lips sealed) will not give me...

New Floor Board Design, & Materials

Hi guys, I'm knew to iBoats. I just purchased a '71 Bellboy with a soft floor. I'm planning on replacing the floors this weekend and need to order supplies today. Type: I am going with 3/4" Fir as I heard Fir is naturally resistant to salt water deterioration. I heard pressure treated is bad as...
