    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Got something done tonight. My new bow rails are mounted. I had to cut the center uprights and drill all new mounting holes. Like I said before, I'm thrilled with how these turned out.

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Question: On the vinyl covered wood panels for the consoles and front seating, should I drill and rivet/screw them back in after they are epoxied and covered in vinyl? Or, epoxy them, mount with screws to make sure of the fit, them paint boat...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Had a little unexpected cash pop up so I splurged for a new control and engine harness. The original harnes was kind of hacked up so this should make it easy getting the engine up and running when the time comes. Been sick the last few days...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Tonight I took the whole boat and new bow rails back to get them fine tuned. He spent about 45 minutes bending a little here, a little there until they were as perfect as could be. Very happy again. They really look nice. When I picked them...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Last night I worked on cleaning up my inner trim and the aluminum rub rail channels. I was planning on painting them but they are in pretty good shape so might leave them as is. It bugs me a little that they won't look brand new, but in the...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Not a lot going on, been busy camping and other fun stuff but I did get my bow rails back. They're going to need a slight bend at the rear. He matched them perfect to the originals but the new rear fitting comes off at a slightly different...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Yeah, I scratched my head a little as well on that one. I think thats if you use the tube for a drain in a thinner transom where you need the length for your plug to work correctly. I think anyway......

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Finally found someone to do bow rails for me so we went for a ride this morning to see him. The boat hasn't moved in over a year so it took lots of moving stuff to get it out of the garage. It's a tight fit with the windshield on: Floor...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Check out that alignment! The starboard console, windshield, and inner trim are all fully installed. That was kind of a pain, took about 3 tries installing and removing the windshield as the side window screws had to be drilled because of...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Well, I worked on my boat almost all day today, spent most of it fine tuning the windshield. One of the side supports was bent pretty good but I managed to get I back to where it's almost not noticeable. The center section is lines up perfect...

Will Raw Water Pump Impeller Pieces Cause Problems (3.0GS SX)

Hi, My In-laws have a '95 FourWinns Freedom with a 3.0gs and Cobra Drive (Volvo SX from what I understand). The engine overheated on me yesterday. I checked the raw water impeller just now and all the fins are completely gone. I want to know if I need to be concerned about where the fins are...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Hi, I have been working on a boat, unfortunately not mine. My inlaws have a 17' FourWinns that ran perfect all last year. I went to take it out last week and it wouldn't start. I put a new starter on it for them and went to try again. Fired...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Yeah, the center window gap is WAY better than it was when I took it apart. I need to slot the screws where the console bolts to the gunnel so I can raise that side about 1/4", then it should be perfect.
