    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I'm going out to lay some more deck tonight but have a question. My boards have two coats of epoxy on the bottoms and edges. The top sides have nothing yet. I am going to do the tops after it is all down. Question: My boat is going to be...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Well work is finally back to normal and I have some time to work on the boat. Tonight I riveted the first deck section in and did two pours of foam. For those new to my project, I am laying in sheet foam on top of the ribs and then pouring in...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Not much happening, need to get the deck down and pour the foam in which requires temps above 80 degrees. Seems silly to heat the garage when its in the 60's out, so I may wait till it warms up some more. I started cutting up 1/2" thick sheet...

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration It's slightly thicker, maybe 1/16" is all. I never worked with teak before, but it cuts nice and the edges came out very smooth after a trip across the rouer table. Well, fortunately, (or maybe unfortunetly) my job requires a lot of overtime...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I still have to get the deck in, splashwell back in, mount bow-rails, cleats and stuff. Basically I don't want to be drilling into it after paint. Probably looking at another month yet.:(

    1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Decided to take a day off from epoxying and cut and mounted new teak bow strips and mounted a new bow light. I got a new piece of teak off ebay because the originals had holes from a bow mounted trolling motor.

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Boy, you really have to watch how you say things around here. :D Can anyone tell me if there is a caulk that is fuel resistant? I have a thread going about it in the resto section, but no good answer yet....

Fuel Tank Installation in a Starcraft 22' Aluminum Boat

I have a few questions and want to get this right. This is my tank, it's been checked and cleaned. It holds 50 gallons. This is where it goes: Originally it looks like the tank "floor" had some kind of black sealer all the way around it, sealing the wood to the stringers, basically...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Anybody ever have their epoxy pot start smoking about 30 minutes after it's been mixed? I was laying some fiberglass cloth on my fuel tank support stringer (2x4), and I couldn't hold onto my pot, set it down and it was giving off smoke.

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration High and dry!! Notice the ratchet straps. The trailer is still strapped to the boat. I thought it would pull the boat down in the water further than it did. My Dad and I stood on each side for a while which submerged the side seem, but I...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Here's the rub rai insert. I ordered this through a Starcraft Dealer. I e-mailed a lady at Barbour Plastics and she said the original profile is not run anymore and a custom run minimum is 1000 ft. She gave me a part number of a newer style...
