Jeeze 50 degrees for tommorrow AM with a 84 high? Must be fall again, freeze for the good water and bake in the afternoon.

    This could have ended poorly

Noticed this a few minutes ago - tpms retaining nut seems about ready to crack in half and fall off. That would be fun on a front tire at 65MPH. Guess I should pop the spare on, not worth chancing the run to the tire shop with it like that.

    Odd day on the lake

I'll leave the ramp antics out of it - its a holiday weekend nuff said. Couple odd things on the water today - A pirate raft and a couple amphicars

    Oops - check your spares

The thread about the spare tire carrier breaking prompted me to take a look at mine this morning, getting ready to take off for the day. The carrier is fine but it looks like the boat hit the spare pretty hard at least once and bent the bracket enough to push one of the exposed ends of the...

    Braided outboard fuel lines?

Anyone make the standard Mercury Outboard fuel lines with a braided fuel hose on them? My dads pontoon keeps eating fuel lines when the motor is put all the way up so it is out of the water. Guess we could make one, but if there is a commercially available one I would just buy him one.

    Your first boat story

Maybe there is already a thread like this but here goes. My wife had grown up around boats and her dad used to take us out every couple weekends after we were married. In 2003 my wife decided that she wanted a boat of our own and I reluctantly agreed. She sold her 1970 Triumph Spitfire to pay...

And a boarder turns to skiing

My 15 year old wakeboarder decided to try out slalom skiing this week at the lake. Tried with our combo skis first with poor results, so we switched him over to my Obrien Evidence 69" which I thought would be way to much ski for him (6ft 1 @ 155) but he was able to drop pretty quickly and had...

    Slalom binding recommendation

Finally ripped the tounge on my last pair of KD comp bindings so I need to buy a replacement. I've got a connelly sidewinder on one of my skis and don't like it as much because of the floppy feel it has. Any recommendations (front boot only)?

Fuel guage - one of those important things ;)

Had the day off so I pulled the boat out of the garage to test start it and get the towe put back on. Had just got done working on the drive last weekend so I wanted to make sure everything was good and no leaks. Put on the muffs, cranked and cranked and cranked until I finally noticed that...

Drive lube in odd spot Alpha1 Gen 2

Background - end of last season I had a problem where my drive lost most of its lube and I never did figure out where it went. Took the upper and lower off before winter with the intent of replacing all the seals. Today I was looking at the boat and noticed that there was a few drops of drive...

    MN boaters - bellows life

I've got a 2005 Bayliner 3.0L w/Mercruiser. It has the original bellows set on it. I pulled the drive to fix an unrelated problem and looked/felt the bellows and they are not hard or rotted. Seem like new to me. For those of you in MN/WI what kind of life are you seeing from the bellows...

As of Sunday ski season is over and it is almost time for waterski season Spend all winter trying to get the weight forward and stop leaning back, reverse the process for summer, repeat ;)

Crap - finished off the season

Took the boat out for one last time on Minnetonka today before putting it in storage saturday. Cruised around for an hour and stopped for some food, got done having dinner and when I restarted the boat the alarm would not quit. Guages were all good so I checked the only other thing I know is...

Anyone ever tried on snow skis?

Cleaning out the collection this weekend and an odd idea occurred to me. Anyone ever tried waterskiing on snow skis? We've done the water skimming in the spring at the bottom of the hill, but I'm wondering if a pair of old school 201 slaloms would provide enough lift to actually ski on. OK...

    2006 ELPTO 50HP - 35 psi in middle cylinder

Dads pontoon had been running like crap and finally refused to stay running so he called out a mech who found 135/35/135 compression. Any common issues in these motors that would cause an extremely low hour motor to lose a cylinder? He didn't want to waste the rest of the summer so he bought...

    A waterski or art?

My wifes family had a reunion this weekend, which consisted of boats, skiing, more boats and any form of activity you can do in a lake. Her uncle from CA has always used a beautiful wood ski that he has taken incredible care of since it was new. Unfortunately he was unable to ski any more...

Bellows fell off and t stat

Last friday we took off for our yearly week long ski/wakeboard trip and I noticed that the bellows was disconnected from the drive when I put the plug in. Kind of odd - checked the bellows and it was still soft and pliable, loosened up the hose clamp and put it back on. Never had another...

2006 seadoo RXP supercharged, what to look for?

Looking at a 2006 seadoo RXP with supercharger today. Anything in particular to check out on this model? 35 hours on it, new wear ring, impeller and seals (does that seem odd to have been done with only 35 hours?) fresh oil change and new battery.
