    1990 60hp, 2nd broken reed set in 4 weeks..why??

    I currently run a 15" prop but it's at the highest end of my recommended range at WOT. I have been offered a 19" that was on a V4 for free. Will this fit my gearcase ? If not can any adjustments be done to it so it can. I know I need a 17" but you can't borrow props over here from prop shops...

    How low is low for water pressure ?

    After fitting a water pressure gauge to my motor as I had a slight overheat , so replaced the impeller just to be sure and also fitted a gauge. With the motor trimmed or tilted in shallow water, what PSI is ok for the engine when trolling along? Or so long as there is even 1 psi there's water...

    60hp hits 6000

    Hi, Boat in my avatar is a 13 ft fletcher ski boat. Powered by a 1990 johnson 60hp. It over went a complete rebuild over the winter (boat and motor). I'm currently running a 13 1/4 x 17 pitch and speedo says 38mph ( I've no gps). RPM is hitting 6000 -6100 at wot , I have no idea of boat weight...

    60 hp will only go when choked ..carbs rebuilt.

    I am at my wits end here so please advise, 1990 60 hp johnson I was originally having running issues so striped and rebuilt carbs inc. welch plugs. They were all cleaned as best they could be. All fuel lines replaced from the tank to carbs Ran ok for a week then bang more running issues...
