    Deep cycle/dual purpose/start battery

Thanks for the replies. Airshot, I would love to set it up the way you explaine as it totally makes sense and I don't understand why SR didn't build that way. However that would take considerable time and probably expense to separate the circuits and untangle Sea Ray's 30 plus year old wiring...

    Deep cycle/dual purpose/start battery

As we approach boating season I was thinking of replacing 1 of 3 batteries on our 90 310 Sundancer twin 7.4L inboards. We used her all last season with the 3 unknown batteries that came in her when we bought her in 11/21. She currently has 2 battery banks 1 consisting of 2 group 27 marine...

    1972 Checkmate MX-15 Rebuild

More great progress. I have been playing and boating is salt water my whole life, don't think I could make the transition to fresh. LOL. Never been to the great lakes though!! BTW I feel you about being lazy when at the boat. Besides not only does it hurt climbing in the bilge of our SR's...

Thru Hull valve repair or replace

Since sinking my boat is not what I want to do I will wait until she is out of the water before I start messing with it. I was thinking that I could possibly take it apart and reassemble with it the stuck open position then ad another ball valve. However the last thing I want to do I mess with...

Thru Hull valve repair or replace

So one of the other items needing repair on our 90 Sundancer, besides the VacuFlush, see thread below, is the AC system. I was told by the PO it did not seem to blow cold. The first thing I noticed was the hose from the thru hull valve to the strainer look to be in sink your boat condition. I...

    Help with Vacuflush system

Thanks AD, always a pleasure to hear from you. I will read through the link you sent when I have time. I was planning on replacing the filter just haven't gotten to it yet, it does look long over due and neglected. The head system on our last boat was not functioning but we made do so it has...

    Help with Vacuflush system

Hi All, We own a 1990 310 Sundancer this is our first season with her and so far we are very happy. One issue we are having though is with the Vacuflush system. I knew from before purchase the seal between the bowl and the mount leaked so the system would not hold any vacuum, I have since...

    1972 Checkmate MX-15 Rebuild

Hey Zool, figured I would drop in here give kudos on your build. She is going to be real cool when done. I swear I remember seeing that boat on the bay by LBI and commenting on the Chrysler back in the 80s. Hope you are enjoying the big Sea Ray, I know we are enjoying ours.

    Re bedding bow hatches

I am sure this has been mentioned before but here it goes. After washing the bow/deck of my new to me 1990 310 Sundancer I noticed the head liner around the forward V-Berth hatch was wet. I figured it needed to be re-bedded as a PO put a bead of sealant on the outside but had it down on my...

    Furuno Model 1712 radar

Yesterday afternoon while the wife was napping I decided to pull the Radar cover, my plan was to make sure the plug did not have any corrosion and to re seat it. What I found was an even easier fix, as soon as I got the cover off I noticed the belt between the motor and the spinning radar thing...

Nav lights only work battery 2 or both

Dingbat what you stated is why this is so perplexing. I will try and follow the source in the rat's nest under the dash. "Nav lights normally wired direct to house. Follow nav circuit back to source" Port engine single battery with simple on/off switch. I have not really tried to see what is...

Nav lights only work battery 2 or both

Yesterday while showing our new to us 310 Sundancer to a friend, I told him I had replaced the masthead light on the windshield and the stern light on the transom, when I flipped the switch I had no nav lights, I was like wtf they were just working. The boat has 3 batteries, one for the port...

    Furuno Model 1712 radar

I was at the boat earlier this week when the sun was still with us, it's been gray and rainy here, just for fun I turned on the radar. It seem to have and issue and I get HD-sig-miss error. Manual says to check cable connection, which I will do. Any other suggestions? Not that I plan to use...

    Furuno Model 1712 radar

I appreciate the feed back, and have decided to leave the Radar where it is because it will be more work to remove and fill in all the holes including the large opening in the dash. I did turn it on and it looked to be functioning although I read through the manual after that so who knows. I...

    Furuno Model 1712 radar

I was mistaken it looks like the Radar was added to the boat around 99 - 00 time frame, at least the manuals say they were printed in 99. Still makes is 20 years old technology. The Garmin GPS was add around 2007ish again that is the date on the manual I have for it.

    Furuno Model 1712 radar

Hi, My name is Mike and I usually hang out in MerCruiser and restoration forums, I have question about the Radar system on our new to us 1990 Sea Ray SunDancer 310. She was originally equipped with a Furuno Model 1712 Radar. We are bay/fair weather boaters and have no real need for radar, so I...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Haven't been around much and was catching up. Looking good. I like the use of the Panduit raceway to hide the wires coming out of the ceiling, my rep would be proud.
