    My96 force stumbles help reaths,stator?

    It runs strange like an electrical problem in the engine. When running around 4500rpm it goes up and down. Could my stator be bad and is it easy to replace. Mine is made by mercury and only has one carb. I looked inside the carb when running is this where the reath is. Could it be damaged

    My 96 75hp force engine is still weird at 4750 it goes down and up 200rpms and m

    Strange noises kinda has a clank banging noise but I think this is coming from the steering linkage. Could the stator be arcing over,cdi loosing spark,what do the reths do in under the carb? My engine has only one carb how does each cyl get fuel?

    still wondering about the thermostate on my 96 force 75hp engine

    When I start the engine should water comeout right away? Or as it warms up the Tstat opens and lets more come out. With the old one it had to warm up before water cameout and the new one it just comes out. Did my parts delear sell me a small dia thermo.

    So what is different between my 96 75hp Force and a 96Mercury 75hp?

    I owned a 89 mercury 80 and found the only differnce between the Force is the prop size and the 3 carbs instead of just one and oil injection? Everyone says all these bad things about force but I can not see any difference. Does anyone know the real deal on my 96 75hp.

    still have problems with my 96 75hp force stalling

    I installed the fuel pump diaphram kit but did not snap the valve stems. I am wondering if my boat has fuel vent? Its a 96 170 fishmaster alum starcraft boat with the 1996 75hp force.

    How is your fuel line connected to the engine do you have a quick connect? What style is this and can you get me some part #. Pictures are a thousand words thanks.

    Is there a part that keeps the fuel from going back into the tank?

    I have disconnected the pump squezzer from the fuel pump I have noticed that when I prime the bulb and let the gas come to the top it goes down fast into the tank? Could there be a ball valve that should only let gas come up not down.

    96 force 75hp stalls at the lake must prime the bulb to keep her running?

    I looked at the fuel pump and it looks good the fuel lines are fine the filter is new. Why is my engine stalling out at the lake everytime. The primer blub out lines run to the fuel pump should there be a male and female quick disconnect at the front of the engine like my old Merc? :eek:

    Prop aligned? How do you do this on an outboard

    Someone on this board mentioned if the owner did not align the prop you could have lower unit problems? I just purchased a new prop and would like to get it right the first time. Thanks for your speedy reply. :D :)
