    2 questions

    1956 30 hp evinrude....took it out today for the first time....ran great except..the shear pin failed, did not hit anything, was simply pulling away from fishing hole, throttling up when it gave. ????? In the pics below you can see a black streak...it is coming from a hole next to the middle...

    Water discharge...

    For Tashasdaddy....we have the same motor, 56 30 hp rude.....I ran mine in the tank, should the cooling water exhaust thru the prop and the "holes" half way up the housing? I dont have any discharge from the "holes". The upper water inlet was in the water. I also only idled it.

    What is it........

    On my 56 30 hp rude, just above the anti cavitation plate is a plate held in place by 2 screws, with holes in it.....water intake? I thought that was down by the prop.......... Thanks......

    Center console????

    I have a 16 ft LoweLine....aluminum, riveted (no leaks) with a beam of approx 5 feet....30 hp pushing it. It has the 3 typical bench seats...i have been thinking of installing a center console...My questions...where is the right spot regarding the length ie bow to stern ratio........is the boat...

    24 volt motor.....

    I have a 12 volt minn kota W36....36 # of thrust? It has been rewired to run on 24 volt also,(flip a switch).....so do I have twice the thrust?

    Trim gauge and parts

    Hope this is the right forum....My 115 hp merc (1988) has trim and tilt...but the boat did not come with a guage.....is there a kit available that includes the "switch or sensor or sender" that mounts on the trim unit ? I have a 28 fot pontoon...the engine cannot be seen from the captains chair

    Opions Please...

    Not about my spelling either.........rather about hydrofoils....ie stingray, doelfin....are they worth the effort? And a note...I have found so much info on here, just reading other peoples threads.....experience goes along way, and it seems to be here, Thanks to all the old salts on here........

    Maximum RPM?

    My 1988 merc 115 hp is only reaching approx 3800 rpm....it is on a 28 foot pontoon...runs fine otherwise ideas?

    holes in filter cap?

    My 89 115 hp has had the oil injection removed...no problem....however i noticed that each of the filters (at the carbs) has a small threaded hole in it....is this where the oil was injected? do they need to be plugged? Also, the data plate seems to be missing.unless I am looking in the wrong place?
