    Battery question

I have a 30' Cruisers Inc with twin 454's. I believe that my starting batteries are "deep cycle" type batteries. Would it be safe to say that barring any other mechanical or electrical problems, that these types of batteries will not allow my starter to turn these motors over as "briskly" as...

    Question re: Mercruiser 454

This weekend I fired up the engines on my 30' Cruisers. They are 300hp 7.4L 454ci FWC MercCruisers. I really have 2 questions. 1. On the first engine, after the fogging oil burned off, the engine continued to emit a white smoke. I ran the engine about 10 minutes, enough to bring it up to...

    4.5hp 1980 Evinrude outboard

Does anyone have information on how to adjust the idle on this motor? The "rich/Lean" adjuster works fine and the throttle handle operates fine, however the knob at the end of the throttle that allows you to adjust the idle speed doesn't seem to do anything. Could it be broken? How can I tell...

I have Cruisers Inc. with twin 7.4L 300hp yr 1990, and each of them is quite hard starting. When they are cold, both of them have to be cranked and pumped significantly to get them started, and even when they are warm, they both are very tempermental.. One is less worse than the other when...

    duoprop vs reg. prop

The Duo prop wil provide better bite out of the hole and less cavitation when cornering. It would depend on what you plan on doing with the boat... if you are pulling skiers and driving really agressivly, then go with the duo prop.. it would likely be significantly more money however...
