    1966 johnson 5hp again

    Looks like the motor with the defunct coils will end up on eBay for parts. ?30 or so each for new coils considered to much to pay. But we are also puzzled by the prop. Is it something special? Is it just bent? Is it the wrong prop that has been deliberately bent to clear the water intake?

    I have seen a suggestion that two engines will have "more grunt" than one single of twice the power. eg two 30hp rather than a single 75hp or 80hp. Sorry no definition of "grunt" Any comments?

    If a small outboard, of any make, which is fitted with a rectifier for battery charging is run without a battery connected is there any chance that that could damage the rectifier?
