    I purchased a set of the smart tabs SX for my 1981 Glastron 167 with a 50hp motor. I?m worried about trying to mount them. My transom is not flat once you get beyond the ?V? part of the hull. It is slightly contoured. I figure I have two options. One will be to mount the tabs too far...

    I found one for sale locally. It runs and comes with controls. Any input or opinions? Im thinking about buying it to replace my 50hp. Do these have a points ignition system or CDI?

    bought a boat with a merc classic fifty, what to expect?

    I bought a 1981 Glastron 167 with a Merc Classic fifty inline 4-cylinder on the back (rated at 45hp I think). The hull is rated for 120hp so I'd say im seriously underpowered. I wont be able to test it out until next week, but what do you guys think I can expect for performance out of this...

    Just bought a boat...

    A 1981 Glaston 167 with a Merc "classic fifty" motor (only 45hp I think). I haven't had a chance to take it out yet, but the motor seems to run OK in the garbage can. I'm worried it wont plane with 4 people in the boat with such a small engine but wont know for sure until I get some water...
