    Well, Scott. I’m gonna follow your advice and not yank it out. A pal of mine that also works on boats and British cars like me said to just run it. I was getting paralysis by analysis. I’ll post an epilogue. Maybe get towing insurance. I’m old. I’ve earned it.

    Been here just an awhile but I’ve noticed……that

    in other mechanical threads I belong to the result of the fix is almost always posted. Here. There’s a fix and the mechanic completing the fix evaporates POST YOUR FIXES WHEN YOU COMPLETE THEM!!!! This would not happen on the MGExperience of which I also belong.

    Can’t get rid of the knock on this n”ew to me boat” and figure I should pull it and replace the bearings. I’m wondering how long the Total job should take got all the tools and access to a hoist.     Also was gonna take the oil filter off and tear it apart to look for shavings. No filters locally. The oil is the color of honey. The seller probably dumped 5 quarts of ALDI oil into it before I bought it. Liqui Moly arriving soon. Hope it does something. Wanna get outta the driveway.

    Now that I’ve got all wiring and ignition bits worked out, this thing fires like a champ. Bypassed the resistor wire with this electronic ignition. Fires almost as fast as my 79 MGB.     I’m spending all days off diagnosing. Just as I get one thing worked out, I can’t get ignition working. Was getting really weird stuff happening. Then replaced the switch. Seems. Okay. I gotta get it started again and pull out the stethoscope

    Oh no. Catastrophic. The one Iron Duke with low hours that craps out. Swell. All prepared to do that and I can’t get power to the starter or the solenoid is bad. Jebus. It started out so promising. Thanks….I guess🤦‍♂️
