    The exhaust cover will show you nothing. The lost foam cast blocks are different than the earlier blocks.

    More than likely a blown piston. Pretty common on those if the waterpump update has not been done. You cannot see the pistons through the exhaust on that motor.

    The flywheel is bent it is junk now. That's what happens when you hit them with a sledge. You cannot have 120 volts with a 12 volt battery. Have you checked the lanyard switch? Ignition switch?

    If you put the motor shifter in forward and the lower in forward really can't screw it up.

    Sounds like the motor is lean. Does it have low speed screws?

    Compression isn't great. But it sounds like it is running on 1 cylinder.

    What motor do you have? A 2+2 will has a propensity to break piston skirts above 5500. And yes they did come with Rev limiters.

    Put the puller back on and get it as tight as you can. Then give the main puller bolt a wack with a carpenters hammer. Repeat until the flywheel pops.

    What Rev sensor? Any over Rev protection on that motor would kick in at around 5300 rpm. Get a factory manual and read it front to back. Or find a dealer familiar with the 2+2 motor. Dog clutch has nothing to do with your problem. Get a manual
