    3.7 to 4.3 swap

The extra power/torque of the V8 more than covers the extra few pounds. On the Brighter Side, you could convince the Wife and Kids that they hinder the Boat's Performance, and should remain ashore. Girlfriends and Mistresses, need not be sent ashore. When I was buying my I/O, it was offered...

5.0 swap to 5.7 what carb is the best

This the factory Intake off of my 2002 VP 5.7. It is a 4bbl intake with an Adapter to mount the 2bbl Holley. I have installed a Holley 650 Spreadbore on it. It is currently using the Original 500(375cfm if flow rated like a 4bbl)CFM Holley 2bbl.

7.4mpi just started running rough and with gas coming out exhaust

Does it have spark on all the Cylinders? Just because the Wire is connected, doesn't mean the Plug is Firing. The Spark must be good enough to jump at least a 5/16" gap

    Advice on 5.7 mercruiser/vortec replacement

Mechanical pumps were for many years and are fine as long as they are USCG approved. Replacing it with an Electric pump requires that the Pump doesn't receive Power unless the Engine is Running, or being Cranked to start, again USCG Regulations. Any any Ignition System Parts have to be USCG...

    Carburetor leaking

Try draining the Fuel Bowl and refill it. Also, try tapping the Carb Body with a small wrench where squeezing the primer Bulb, and see if that stops the overflow.

70hp 1982 evinrude manual tilt very stiff

With the Lock engaged, it should remain up or down, depending on where the Lock Lever is set. However, if you do hit something when running, the Engine may flip up very fast and without the Shock to limit the Tilt Up, might damage the boat and/or the Transom Bracket.

    5.7 omc carb leak

Don't go adjusting the Secondary Air Valve Spring just yet, as I have never seen one that went out of Calibration by itself. There is another device that controls how fast the Air Opens, and prevents it from opening too soon. On Most Q-jets that will be the Primary Choke Pull Off. It has a Leaky...

Wonder if I should go IO again or go OB?

If I were buying again, I prefer to get an Outboard, unfortunately there are no more 2 strokes being Built, and while the 4 Strokes are getting better on Acceleration, they are still a bit slower then what the Old 2 Strokes can do. My current 18 1/2 ft I/O has 5.7 in it, and it can accelerate...

Volvo Penta 2003 SX Drive Oil?

From the VP Operator Manual: The drive unit is filled at the factory with Volvo Penta DuraPlus GL5 Synthetic gearcase lubricant. This lubricant must be used when adding lubricant or refilling the drive unit. The "Must" part is that it must be a Synthetic GL5 Oil. Using anything Else could lead...

    Cold Start Problems 5.7

Easy Carb to work on, I have it on my 5.7 in my Avatar. You are probably on the right Track, looking at the Accelerator Pump. Is the lever sticky/slow to respond? It might just need Cleaning, if that doesn't help... It is quite simple to take apart. Remove the Fuel Line from the Inlet on the...
