    Opinions on an 85hp Johnson

    I'm thinking of looking at an 85hp Johnson, not sure on the year but I know it's pre '79. Any opinions on this particular engine...should I bother? also would I notice any significant difference from the 55 horse (same vintage) I'm running now on a 20ft aluminum???<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Sean

    Need some input on the validity of a motor

    Did Evinrude ever produce a 4 cylinder 50 horse in 1965. I know someone who claims to own one. If they did not then what does he own? I've never heard of a 4 cylinder in this low of a hp rating. I'm just curious.

    Engine SIZE???

    I have a 20ft aluminum deep-V fishing boat built in the 70's. There is no identification plate on the boat to tell me MAX Hp. Can anyone offer any info on what would be a safe maximum horsepower outboard to put on this type boat?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Sean

    1978 Johnson 55hp won't idle

    I have a 1978 55hp Johnson Sea Horse that won't idle worth a damn, it idles worse in the water than out. It runs great past idle. It has good compression, I've cleaned the carbs and messed with the trottle linkage and mixture screws, but I can't seem to remedy this problem. Any suggestions would...

    Oil for 55hp Johnson Sea Horse

    Can anyone tell me the oil mixture for a 1978 55hp Johnson outboard? also what type of lower end oil should I use in this engine? I just picked it up and am not shure. Thanks for any info!!!
