I'm thinking about buying a sailboat in this size range. My plans are to live aboard it, either at a slip, or mooring. Eventually i might take an extended trip with it, with at least one other person. So that would mean living on the boat with 2-3 people on it. You think 2-3 people could...

I live in MD, the new snow belt. and I have several brown spots on my lawn, where huge piles of snow were at. One brown spot is next to the walkway, and I think that was where we shoveled the walkway. We were a few feet away from the actual walkway, due to 2 ft of snow on the ground. And We...

What is the deal with pool Vacuums?!

Every time I use a pool Vacuum, It works for about 20 minutes, then looses suction. Sometimes I just have to clean out the filter, other times the pump just stops working. I know sucking air thru the hose at first will mess with the pump, but you just vent the air out of the filter. Why...

Anyone ever sail across the Atlantic?

Just wondering If anyone ever sailed across the Atlantic, or even the pacific? I guess you would need at least a 40 ft sailboat, and a lot of food. And you would have to navigate with just a compas, to save power, in your battery. I guess you would figure out a rhomb line to set your compas...

I have a small 16 ft pool, that I bought at wal-mart a few years ago. I stopped putting clorine in it, and stated adding rock salt and some water softener salt to it. It still has some algee in it, but will the salt kill the algee? I think that a 1/2 pound of salt will make one gallon of...

I must replace my trailer lights 3 to 4 times a year. One side will break, and I replace that side, then the other side will break. The bulbs are 5-6 bucks, and a new light is only 8 bucks, so rather than hunt for the right bulb, I just got a new one. Either side of the trailer has...
