    Correct it is a 2 stroke and a wonderful motor.----A 4 stroke would have a dipstick. oil sump , and a cam timing belt.

    Perhaps you bought someone's problem motor.----Here a motor like that would have the cylinder head off in a matter of minutes for inspection.----These motors have a history of leaking exhaust cover gaskets.-----This becomes an issue with internal rust.-----A head gasket is CHEAP

    Time to take the lower unit apart.-----These lower units are very rugged and easy to service.-----My opinion and some will argue that.----Install a seal kit as well.
