    it was a "woody" with mahogany panels. whats left of the original wood is in the car that I could use as templates if needed. going with carbon fiber inserts (see post #1)

    ABS is about the only recent improvement that I like besides the heated seats. however the Bosch servo unit is now nearly 30 years old in its design. there are a few inherent flaws in it regarding todays 5-star safety ratings.....to bad they are wrapped in fugly and bad powertrain...

    My next truck will be a 1967 GMC K20 with a custom quad cab on a custom chassis with a 5.9 P-punp Cummins and a 6-speed manual transmission.

    was bored over T-day break. spent some time with some pics and a pencil. rear axle may be moved aft a bit more, and the front axle may go a bit further forward. trying to get from 78" wheel base to 88" wheel base. Height as shown is 47" I think the wheel diameters are off a bit.

    It's same width, and about 2' long. Some are 3' long They extend the running surface, and react faster than traditional tabs. The really big ones have 3 cylinders and a dedicated hydraulic pump per side

    Last tinny I worked in Iused titebond III and applied with roller. Used 1-1/4 drywall screws Laid it on the garage floor and parked 2 6x6s on top with a bunch of weight to keep it flat. After I pulled the screws, I made a paste with sawdust and titebond III to fill the holes. Thinned...

    Prior threads from the OP have a pre 1991 since the motor has points Digging further is a 1989 Chap 178 with a busted and welded up Mercruiser 3.0 So @jclark178 , any 1990 or earlier 3.0 long lock only will work to swap over See post #9

    1990 was last of the 2.5 motors. 1991 is when the new version of the 3.0 was released Hence the 1990/1991 division
