    Proper Boat Grounding

Glad I was a toolmaker, to much weird terminology in electrical explanations for me....lol....

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

A few years back, I had what I thought was a mirror on a truck coming the opposite direction hit the side of my vehicle. It was dark so visibility was not great. I stopped as did the oncoming driver, we chatted for a couple minutes and he told me a deer ran into the side of my truck. Sure...

Jeez! What happened to global warming

Been in the teens and low 20's here for the past almost two weeks, Thursday supposed to hit 50 then back into the 20's on Friday ! Guess I should run out and buy an electric car so these temp swings stop !

    Proper Boat Grounding

Now even more confused.....my aluminum boat has no wires connected to the aluminum hull, but it does show 12v when testing with a vom. It must be thru the SS bolts bolting the motor on to the transom.

    Pump themed anchor

Sounds to me like he is going to duplicate the anchor feature on his trolling motor. Mine works well in winds up to 15 mph and 2' chop. No matter what you want to use, the coast hard still requires an actual anchor on board if you're use any kind of public waterway.

Think I would prefer mine cleaned and skinned before roasting ! Burnt fur does not sound appetising.....

    Time for a new mattress

Perfect timing on this mattress subject. About 8 years back we tried one of the foam mattresses and to date have been disappointed with it. My wife has a bad back even after 2 surgeries and both hips replaced. I have ploymyalgia, arthritis of the muscles an RA and the foam mattress seems to...

Jeez! What happened to global warming

Back in the mid 70's we installed a wood burner in our 1600 sq ft home. Had access to free wooden we had re insulated our home when the siding was updated. After about 22 years it averaged out to about 2-3 cords per year. Mild winters closer to 2 cord and harsh winters closer to 3 cord. We had...

recmnds for 2.5" fuel filler hose under my console

All of my built-in tank fill hoses have been 1 1\2" ID hose, can't say I have saw anything bigger. Replaced my fill hose a couple years back when I replaced the hose to the motor. The fill hose was a little stiff but nothing terrible, was able to make a bend by hand to make final connections...

Your Best Technique for Rope Starting Merc 20hp EFI

Have owned more small out boards than I have fingers and toes over many, many years. One thing I have learned is each one has it's own method for quick starting. Use logic and try different things and make note of what does not work. With enough patience you will figure it out. Owners manual...

    hub dust cap

Good possibility....I only buy the brand name units, never import copies if I can help it. Yes they can be difficult to get installed due to the tight fit needed. I don't remove them until time to repack the wheel bearings ( 2-3 years). In my 60 plus years, only lost one bearing buddy, fell...

    Decompression valve

Not sure your reason for having difficulty pulling that motor, but I can say my reason is turn rotator cuffs in both shoulders....plus old age...no pulling for this old boy ! I have learned recently that the newer 4 stroke engines are more difficult to pull than the old two strokes. If you...

Inspecting 2002 Tracker 125 HP Outboard

I bought a 1992 4 cylinder 40 hp Merc with oil injection system and love it. Talked to a couple mechanics about the system before purchase and all positive recomendations. Motor has had no issues since bought new, I am second owner. Motor idles so slow you can hear each cylinder fire. Be sure...

Upgrades for 92’ 25hp Johnson to gain some more speed!

Without going bigger on hp of motor, the most your gonna gain is 2-3 mph at best....hardly worth the trouble ! If you could jump up to a 40 hp, then you might see some real gain..

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

A lot can depend on how they are prepared, if fixed just like a rabbit, they will taste similar to a rabit. I always seasoned and marinated my squirrels then wrapped in foil and cooked on the grill. Great eating ....!!

2018 Yamaha 40 HP, Poor top Speed

180# is way high, mabey a faulty gage? "Good" spark means nothing, we need to know how much of a gap the spark will jump...Gages are about 10 bucks at most auto parts stores. Guesses will only create more guesses..

Keep in mind that gaskets, gimball bearings, bellows, U joints etc are normal maintenance items like tires and windshield wipers on a car. They are expected to be replaced at some time. Unless the prior owner has service records that show those item have been replaced recently, just consider...
